Third for Oscar Woodhouse in the Australian U16 3000m today. It's been an incredible season for Oscar, which started with a National Title in the U15 Australian XC Championships, followed by a Sub2 800m, Victorian Country 1500m Record, Australian All Schools silver and a 5th placing in the Australian U16 1500m.

Matilda Read is your 2026 Australian U17 5000m Walk Champion. A very special performance tonight in Brisbane. Matilda now completes the national double this season, after also winning the Australian All Schools U16 3000m Walk title in December.

National bronze for Kaydence π₯
Kaydence Fleming is third Australian across the line in todayβs Australian U18 400m Championship final, securing a national bronze medal with a time of 56.79.
It has been a successful season so far for Kaydence, who now holds the GTC 100m, 200m, and 400m records.
Kaydence now turns attention to the 200m heats tomorrow.

James Denton becomes the first GTC athlete to break 49 seconds in the 400m, placing 5th (4th Australian) at the 2026 Australian U18 400m Championship. Season time goal: β 50.18 > 48.64

A big step forward for Kaydence Fleming, who broke 57 seconds for the first time tonight in the Australian U18 400m heats in Brisbane, setting a new GTC 400m record, previously held by her sister Elly (56.88), and clocking a personal best by 0.64 seconds.
Kaydence now holds the GTC 100m, 200m, and 400m records. She qualified third-fastest for the U18 400m final and will line up tomorrow at 12:50pm.

A career milestone for Charles Leahy and Elly Fleming, competing at the Australian Open Championships for the first time, becoming the 5th and 6th athletes to represent GTC at these Championships.
Both athletes progressed through the prelims with 2nd-place finishes to automatically qualify for the heats. In the heats, Charles finished 26th overall, while Elly placed 13th overall (12th Australian). Ellyβs placing is the highest ever by a female GTC athlete at an Australian Open Championships.
Elly also recorded a personal best of 2:08.16, #2 on the GTC all-time list.
