A Month of Myths Day 8: CrossFit Is Dangerous.

LIES, ALL LIES 😑😑😑!

The evidence shows that the injury rate in CrossFit is .74 injuries per 1000 hours and even lower for those training more at .27 injuries per 1000 hours.

My biggest challenge as a physical therapist who advocates for CrossFit as an appropriate fitness activittis those who are educated and in the healthcare field working against me and demonizing CrossFit. Numbers don’t lie, they are wrong and it’s no more dangerous than running (which by the numbers is much more @7.7-17.8 injuries).

This study also shows that those in their first year are more likely to get injured, as well as those who train 3x or less a week. Which is understandable, likely due to improper progressing for novices and those who may participate very sporadically and attempt intensities and skills outside of what their buddy is capable of.

If you are a healthcare practitioner please stop demonizing CrossFit, this also goes for every gym goer or best friend who thinks those β€œswinging pull-ups” are dumb. Check your facts!

I learnt a few thing yesterday the hard way. Don’t try and rush to much in one day. Somethings are better left for when you have more time. Tried to change the oil in my car between picking up kids and cooking dinner. I gave the car an hour to cool down but it wasn’t enough. Hot engine oil ended up all over my hands.

First attempt at home made Jerky from the Samba Hind I harvested last week. Not too bad for my first time but need to work with the spices some more. Most that have tried it like it so I'm fairly happy with myself.

Cooked up 100% Grass Fed organic venison tonight, harvested from yours truly. With some Broccoli, cauliflower, eggs, avocado and sauteed garlic mushrooms, it bought the whole hunt and adventure together and had the tastebuds truly satisfied 🀀.......

Seen a few Deer so far but as always their in the wrong areas. Time to sit down and have some lunch πŸ‘πŸ» and a freeze dried meal will suffice. It’s my first time doing lunch this way so I hope it’s good.

Took today off to go for a bush walk and see what I can find. I purchased this gear (boots, pants and top) and all I can say is, so far so good and pretty comfortable. Even if I don’t get anything today it beasts working πŸ˜‚
