Vrttis and Klesas. A student reflects …
‘An asana where I have had an experience of the Vrttis is ardha chandrasana.
I have no illusions – the reality is with my back against the wall I can feel that my alignment is far from ideal. At those times I find memory helps me define the alignment. At these times, rather than being swept away by a sense of failure and the complexity of often erroneous beliefs, I try to simplify, accepting that I may wobble one day or I may find perfect balance. It will either happen or it won’t and no amount of end gaining or trying to fix or control will help. By choosing to step out of the ‘ego cage’ I find I have more trust in what my body is telling me. More clarity and acceptance of reality as is, more ease, and more of a compassionate sense of humour about my endeavours’
