A quick photo with Michelle Heyman from the Matilda's before today's game.
Last game for our girls this afternoon. The last 3 games have been up and down in results but the girls have acquitted themselves well against some very tough opposition.
Tuesday morning saw us take on Roselea and our girls were at their dominant best, racing away to a 5-0 win.
In the afternoon we took on Northern Suburbs Football Association competition front runners Hornsby Heights Hornets. In a game that we had plenty of opportunity to win we were just unable to find the back of the net. A well taken free kick in the dying seconds of the game saw Hornsby take the win and cost us a spot in the Semi Finals. A draw would have seen us through.
Wednesday we were up against another one of the international team in Nomads from NZ. Our girls played hard and were unlucky to be down 0-1 at the break. Some ill discipline cost us in the 2nd half as we gifted the opposition some opportunities which they took to stretch the lead.
All in all our girls have acquitted themselves extremely well against some very tough international representative teams. The feedback from other coaches was very positive and they were all totally astounded to hear we came from an area that only had 1 x competition division and a club that only had 1 x W14 team and we are not a graded team.
We will keep everyone up to date on today's game. It is a 2:50pm kick off.
