No Rest For The Wicked

First one-on-one or week of classes complimentary. To know one, you must know the other. Light and dark, good and evil.

Welcome to Dark Carnival

Duality, the potential for two states to exist in one, is everywhere. Just look at ‘Martial Art’;
‘Martial’ is the physical pursuit, ‘Art’ the mental and emotional endeavor. Unfortunately this is lost in most modern ‘Martial Arts’ where martial pursuit and excellence are the sole focus, or on the flipside, the theoretical application of the art is never put to the martia

Big day on the mats yesterday with three of our crew stepping up to compete — Matt, Kate, and Austin.

Special mention to Matt and Kate, who both jumped into their first ever competition. That first step is always the hardest — dealing with the nerves, the pressure, and the unknown — and they handled it with real composure and grit.

Austin continues to build, showing more experience each time out and putting in solid work across his matches.

Win, lose, or draw, competition is just a snapshot. What matters is having the courage to test yourself, to stay calm under pressure, and to keep moving forward. Proud of all three for getting out there and representing.

We also found out that Ben owns shoes.

Back to the gym, back to work.

This workshop will give you the tools and knowledge to respond and navigate the pre-contact of a knife attack as well as options to engage and control the weapon bearing limb, taking it to the ground where the knife can be removed from the situation.

*REMINDER TO ALL PARENTS*
Although the kidlets are on holidays for school, week 10 of the DCKids program is still on this week at usual class times :)
So drop them off to burn off some energy during games week!

For all of our other kids programs, kids 4-8, Kids MT and Kids BJJ 9-15's, classes as usual as we train year round (with exception of Xmas shutdown).

If you are looking to get your kids involved with our sessions, the best time is during the school holidays...bonus is it is one of the greatest ways to burn off some of that holiday energy and keep the learning going.

Following the kids gradings, the adults were up!!

Muay Thai kicked off and what a display it was.
To have kids jumping in for their adult ranks, guys with aspirations to compete and mums and dads all stepping out of their comfort zones to push and test alongside eachother is an amazing experience.

From all walks of life and experience they pushed themselves and showed what they are made of.
Physically, mentally and emotionally pushed..however not broken.
So proud of them all for taking this test and what it will bring ;)

BJJ was a Craaaaazy afternoon as our students all put their games on display.
Many stripes were earned.
2 blue belts.
2 purple belts.

The time, energy and efforts to achieve the stripes was a beautiful thing to witness. The ironmans for the belts though, as always....it is rough.

The plan is simple, be the guy on top.
That is all fair and well for the first few minutes....then fatigue sets in.
The white belts turn to blue belts...then the purples...browns...and finally blacks. 20 odd minutes for blue belts Brodie and Tom did an awesome job.
30 odd minutes for purple - Bilal and Emma showed their determination and grit.

Coaches had grins ear to ear.
So proud.

Let's do it all again in July ;)

Cast your mind back to Saturday the 21st of March.
Some awesome humans did some awesome things :)

Grading day!!!
First up we had our awesome 9-15's Muay Thai and BJJ crew being put through their paces to level up.

The kids showed heart and resilience as they were tested physically, mentally and emotionally all performing amazingly under pressure.
To see the next generation coming through is an awesome and inspiring thing.

Congratulations one and all!!
You make your coaches proud with all of your ongoing efforts and dedication.

Yeaaaaaah buddy!!!

Mitch
