What is Rugbytots? Rugbytots is the first of its kind; a specifically designed play program for children 2 to 7yrs using the multiple skills of rugby.
Rugbytots was started to fill a gap in the child development sector by using Rugby specific skills to aid in the development of young children. Vikki Fischer:
Vikki played rugby from the mid-1990’s until her (4th) retirement in 2012. She helped establish the local women’s comp, represented and captained the ACT side and was selected for the Wallaroos training squad in 1999. After starting her family, Vikki enjoyed the Canberra comp. Vikki was also assistant coach of the ACT womens rugby squad and has coached junior rugby teams since 2005. Vikki would love to see more families spending time together at the rugby – coaching, playing, supporting, and being part of a true community. She believes rugby provides opportunities for everybody to participate. Vikki has three children: Samuel (13), Christopher (11) years and Annabelle (7), who all started rugby at about 4 years of age. Genevieve grew up in a Rugby mad family and consequently has many memories as a young child both watching rugby and playing in the back yard with her brothers. Genevieve was a founding member of the University's team for which she was Captain for a few years. She also played for the Canberra Kestrels, ACT women's and NSW Womens in later years. Genevieve was the first President of ACT Womens Rugby and together with the committee established the current competition. Rugby will always be a big part of Genevieve's life and through rugby she has made many lifelong friends. Genevieve spent four years working for the London 2012 Olympics but is now looking forward to introducing many youngesters to rugby through Rugbytots. Genevieve's son Harvey is practicing his rugby skills and hoping to start Rugbytots when he turns two.
