Congratulations to Canning Vale Oh Do Kwan Grand Master Carmela Hartnett on winning the award for Australian Poomsae Poomsae Athlete of the year. Unfortuantly no photo of awarding as she was volunteering her time as a poomsae referee at the Poomsae segment of the National Championships along with 9 of our other members and missed the awards night. Not only is she a great competitor, she is also a great contributor staying to help poomsae finish, rather that go to the awards night and ambandon her referee compatriots. A great role model along with a number of referees up for awards who worked hard to complete the competition rather than go to the gala awards.

Great Effort from our small team at Nationals this year, winning 6 Gold 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals. Canningvale Instructor GM Carmela Hartnett winning 2 Gold. Well done.

Great results from our Oh Do Kwan members and club branches at the state championships winning the 1st place poomsae club team trophy with 44 Gold Medals and the 2nd place Kyorugi club Team Trophy with 14 Gold Medals. Well done to all our competitors, coaches and supporters from our branches that took part on a job well done. Special mention to our poomsae competitors in Oh Do Kwan winning the poomsae section of the state championships every year since it was included in the state championships 35 years ago.
Thanks to all our members whom were referees or volunteers at the championships, specially Port Kennedy branch. Events dont happen without your effort.

Congratulations Oh Do Kwan Grand Master Carmela Hartnett. GM Carmela was again victorious at the 2025 Australian Open and Oceania Presidents Cup. She has been victorious in every edition she has attended for over 20+ years. Taekwondo Oh Do Kwan usually is represented by a signifigant sized team however was represented at this years Australian Open and Oceania Presidents Cup by only GM Carmela as a competitor. GM Carmela also assisted the Poomsae Referees after she competed. GM Ross Hartnett was again the Referee Chair in charge of the coordination of Poomsae Referees for both competitions, having been charged with this responsability for many years.
