Working on refining the swing technique with my client and fellow coach, Cass .
I love incorporating the swing into my clients programming. The swing is a dynamic movement that somewhat mimics the static jump, minus the impact π. Which leads to many of the same improvements in power and athleticism, whilst also minimizing injuries.
When it comes to cueing I like to "layer" the the swing. Giving my clients one thing to focus on at a time and then adding a new cue with the next round.
Our brains are only able to remember a handful of things in our conscious mind. So the goal is to pattern each cue until they become second nature.
That to me is the beauty of strength. Some days you can roll up to 'train' but most days we simply 'practice'.
Either way, when it comes to the swing if you want the most bang for buck and a poppin b***y, then take the time to focus on HOW you execute the movement ππ.

Huge congratulations to my strength client who proved too strong for his Thai opponent Dennapho Numponthep in the main event on Rebellion in Melbourne over the weekend.
It was such an awesome display of Muay Thai with Jordan pushing forward the whole fight. Sealing the win by knocking his opponent down twice in the 5th round.
Super exciting to see you more than secure that world title shot next year buddy ππͺπ.

When it comes to Muay Thai getting into the ring is a huge feat in and of itself. It takes dedication, sacrifice and fortitude!
But walking away with a clean win and the belt well that = happy days all round π.

It's fight week for this guy Jordan Godtfredsen (KaoSok Muay Thai). Next Saturday night he will be gearing up to jump in the ring with Thailand's Dennapho Numponthep, in the Rebellion Muaythai 23 MAIN EVENT! π
Jordan's been training hard and he's looking strong and ready to leave nothing behind. This is a huge fight V's a very tough Thai opponent which takes him one step closer to that world title shot next year!

Moving well, learning about movement, the brain and our bodies, throwing bells around, swinging, snatching, cleaning, pressing...
ALL of these things put a huge smile on my face and I'm grateful as f**k to be back here! It's been quite the journey to come this far π.
Huge thanks to these legends Shaun,Tim , Michael and my buddy for the course Flavio π. Cheers for letting me pick your brains and giving me tips and tricks over two days of the Strong First Level 2 cert.
I am now proudly recertified as a Strong First coach passing my level 1 cert and passing all of the techniques for the level 2 ππ.
The best part. The part that keeps me coming back for more and keeps me hooked is that this journey to mastery never ends. I have swiftly developed the same β€ for kettlebells that kept me hooked on Martial Arts/Muay Thai for decades. The love for developing in movement that requires you to focus, practice, try, fail and repeat.
Last but not least, thanks to my man Clem .primitive for simply being there for me in some uncertain times as I paved my way back to strength postpartum, you're the best β€.

If change feels overwhelming, don't focus on what you want to stop doing, start with what you can add in!
This applies to everything from improving your self-care routine to improving your nutrition.
Add in the things that you KNOW when you do them, you feel awesome. Everything from meditation and journal writing to rolling out... do them more often because you're worth it π.
As for nutrition add in protein, the building blocks of life and add in more veggies.
You can't go wrong with adding in more of the good πβ

Thank you to everyone who made it along to our first talk in our Behavioural Based Nutrition series π.
We believe gaining skills in nutrition is no different to gaining skills in strength. We need to start where we are at individually. Even if it takes you months to successfully track, shop, plan and cook your food each week then that's okay.
You are training yourself to follow through, to keep your promises to yourself, to accomplish the goals that will lead to a healthier you. When you get used to keeping your promises to yourself, you become self-motivated, driven from the insideβ¦ and that is our goal π.
We don't believe that any food choice is morally right or wrong, simply that some choices take us closer to our own personal health goals and others will take us further away.
Often we have the nutritional knowledge yet that doesn't necessarily lead change, why? Because resistance in the form of a variety of different obstacles and roadblocks can and will challenge us on our path to change .
So I'm looking forward to navigating and brainstorming our way through these roadblocks with this awesome group in our part two of the series.
