Hi all, we are short a referee for the upcoming comp. if we can’t find one, a few of the competitors will have to share the duties when they’re not lifting. It’s highly unusual, but can be done, even though it will impact the lifter(s) who do double duty. Otherwise, this comp can’t go ahead.

Ref rego fees will be taken care of, and if someone wants to become a ref, the course fees will be taken care of as well.

Rev Up + Aus Juniors/Masters WA Division | Powerlifting Australia | TidyHQ 02/09/2020

Hi everyone!

You've only got a few days left to get your entries in for this years combined Juniors and Masters Australian National Championships ... entries stay open until COB on September 5. There will be medals on the line for Bench Press Only, and the full three-lift. With simultaneous Championship events happening around Australia, it will be an exciting day, and it'll be one you'll want to be involved in. See the attached link for more details.

Running at the same time will be Rev Barbell Club's first ever Powerlifting Australia Competition, and for those who don't fit into a Junior or Masters age category, then they can still hit the platform and give it a shot in the traditional three-lift combination, the push-pull (bench and deadlift), or just bench and deadlift on their own. Entries for this will stay open right up until the last week.

Powerlifting Australia rego is now half price, so there is no time like the present to get into it.

As always, we're reaching out to those who won't be competing to help us out on the day. Regardless of your experience, there are plenty of ways in which you can volunteer ... such as spotting and loading, working on the scoring table, emceeing, assisting in the warm up area or refereeing.

And don't forget, the Perth leg of the Open Nationals will be held at Muscle Pit on October 25 ... so put that in your diary now folks!

Rev Up + Aus Juniors/Masters WA Division | Powerlifting Australia | TidyHQ AUSTRALIAN JUNIOR/MASTERS CHAMPIONSHIPS: All entrants into Powerlifting and/or Bench Press Only will automatically be entered in the championships if they fit the age groups for Youth (U18), Junior (U23), or Masters (40-44 and above). Usual qualifying criteria are waived subject to Powerlifting Aust...

With everything that is going on over in Victoria and NSW, it is becoming increasingly likely that our two National events will be held in a format that we have discussed earlier.

The Northern Territory have an event listed on Sep 27 that includes the Junior/ Masters Nationals, so if you add two and two together, the conclusion is that that event will be held simultaneously in various locations across Australia. So, for those who are preparing for that comp (just over 10 weeks), then factor in the possibility that you might not have to leave the comfort you own fantastic state to take part.

The Open Nationals a month later will most likely follow the same path, so again, factor that into your planning.

If you've never competed at Nationals before, this may well be the best opportunity to do so, with travel costs almost certain to be eliminated, and entry qualification/ grading requirements removed.

And while I have your attention, I'd like to thank all those involved in making last weekend's comp at Legendary Lifting happen. Alan put in a mountain of work, as did Donovan and his crew. It certainly was good to blast some cobwebs out of these old legs!!

Cheers,
Paul

The first Powerlifting Australia competition is just a few days away now!

This Sunday, July 12, will see the Perth Powerlifting community start to emerge from the shadow of the pandemic at Legendary Lifting, in West Perth.

It has been a difficult time for us all, but even in the depths of winter, there is a hint of sunshine breaking through the clouds.

A lot of work has gone into getting things set up and ready to fire, so even if you're not competing or helping out, come down and support the lifters, and Legendary Lifting.

Those who have been able to bank some iso-gains are just hanging out to get on the platform again and put on a show for you all!

Weigh in is from 9.30 and kick off will be 11am. We look forward to seeing you all there 💪💪

Hi everyone!

Things have been dark and miserable for a while now, but I can see some faint rays of sunshine breaking through the clouds.

Firstly, the idea that Nationals this year could be a simulcast event has come to fruition, but instead of July, it’ll now be in September. Those people in states that still have travel restrictions will be able to compete from their home state this year.

Secondly, if all goes according to plan, we are likely to have our first PA comp of 2020 in mid July! Things are still yet to be completely finalised, but Sunday July 12 is looking the goods, at Legendary Lifting. So, put that one in your calendars now!

More info will follow, but those who paid for the March event that was cancelled can carry that forward to this next one 👍
