Wednesday Twilight Raffle just keeps getting better.
If youâre looking for a quiet Wednesday evening⌠this probably isnât it!
Wednesday Twilight nights at the Whitsunday Sailing Club are becoming the place to be â loud, lively, wonderfully chaotic, full of laughter, sailing banter, plenty of cheering and an atmosphere thatâs simply contagious. With the race fleet back at the dock for presentations and visitors enjoying dinner on the balcony, the club was absolutely buzzing last night.
To make things even more exciting, weâve now added a third prize to our Wednesday night raffle, giving everyone even more chance to walk away a winner.
There was even a little extra suspense during the draw when one winning ticket wasnât claimed. The whole club joined in a booming countdown from 10âŚ9âŚ8⌠before a new ticket could be drawn. It certainly had everyone on the edge of their seats.
The nightâs biggest laugh belonged to Iyas, who barely had time to sit down after collecting the rum bucket before his name was called again to take home the weekly hamper.
And as for Jimmy from Lama⌠weâre starting to think he must have bought a second freezer because he surely canât have room for any more prawns. Must mix up those tickets a bit more.
Our brand new third prize had its own little story. It was first won by our wonderful sponsor Di Forster from Pearlythings, but because it was packed full of many of her own donated goodies, she very generously handed it back to be redrawn. The lucky winner was Anne Ross, with Callan happily squeezing his way through the crowd to collect it on her behalf.
A huge thank you to everyone who bought tickets and helped make the night such a success.
