We’re getting closer, Canterbury! 💙

As we prepare to welcome everyone back to Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink, we’re excited to share another major step towards reopening — our Summer Ice Schedule!

And there’s plenty happening on the ice.

Whether you’re coming for a casual skate, learning for the first time, returning to your favorite ice sport or looking for something new, our Summer Schedule has something for just about everyone.

COIR will be alive from 5:00am and on the ice from 5:30am, seven days a week, right through to 11:00pm — bringing together public skating, programs, training and competition from early morning until late at night.

After everything Canterbury has been through, seeing our new weekly schedule come together is another exciting sign that the ice is coming back to Canterbury.

We are excited to announce that WURZ Cup will be held Wednesday nights at the new COIR in October. We will announce the exact start date as soon as we are advised the ice is ready for us, even if it is sooner! The competition will run until February.

👀🏒 WE HEARD A RUMOUR…

Apparently, some Stick & Puck sessions nearby might be coming to an end… 👀

Well, hockey fans — don’t panic. We’ve got you. 😏

When Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink reopens, we’ll be running Stick & Puck sessions throughout the week, giving you plenty of opportunities to get on the ice, work on those hands, practise your shot and just enjoy some quality puck time. 🏒🥅

And that’s only the beginning…

We’ve got plenty more hockey opportunities planned for Canterbury, with more details to be announced as we get closer to reopening.

We are seeking passionate and experienced coaches across all ice sports disciplines who are committed to fostering participation, athlete development, and a positive skating environment. Whether you are an established coach or looking to expand your coaching opportunities, we would love to hear from you.
