Fishing starts 30th August and finishes 3 pm 26th September.
To enter, you must be a financial member of Cardwell Sportfishing Club and email your brag mat photo in before 3 pm September. Don't forget a glory photo as well please. Email them to... [email protected]

Senior winner of Red emperor will win a Tackle World Tully voucher worth $100.
Junior winner for Red emperor wins a voucher worth an amazing $400.😲
Senior winner for Grunter will win a $100 voucher.

ANSA Queensland Species challenge for this year is now up and running.
And after only 2 months, Cardwell Sportfishing Club are off to a great start!!
The leader board is changing daily with Hinchinbrook, Sunshine Coast and Cairns all vying for first place. It's early days. Cardwell have reached last years total in just 2 months – go Team!🎣🎣

Current Standings...
Cardwell went from 45 after one month to 82 at the end of August.
Sunshine Coast went from 45 to 72.
Hinchinbrook went from 43 to 73

In ANSA's individual "Best Species Challenge", we have...

Stan Skeates did have the biggest wild barramundi but has recently just been beaten. (sorry Stan)

Going on a holiday, don't forget to take your brag mat and take photos of your catches, especially when you go outside our area, and don't forget to send them in.

Another enjoyable afternoon was held yesterday at our clubhouse. It was a cool and windy day, so we moved indoors.

What month …Weather gods were favourable for offshore fishing on a few days and we had a number of boats venturing out to the reef and estuaries.
Great to see we had 8 boats all out together on the 10th August and talking on Channel 10, and there were some great catches.

Attention Members and anyone thinking of joining the club.🎣🎣

Come along to this afternoon's sausage sizzle BBQ meeting at 3 pm. There will be presentations for Fish of the Month etc, learn how to tie some fishing knots, raffles and lots of fishing stories.

If it's cold or rainy, we'll move inside the club house.

Our weighmaster needs to do his thing before Sunday's sausage sizzle BBQ meeting at 3 pm.
For club competitions, fish need to be over legal size but for ANSA, any size is accepted. (just don't forget to release all the undersized ones) Don't know what species they are? No worries, we'll ID them for you.

Members and anyone thinking of joining the club.😃
It's our monthly sausage sizzle BBQ next Sunday 30th August at 3 pm. Clubhouse address is 24 St Albans Street, Cardwell.

There will be presentations for Angler of the month, Fish of the month and our Mains board (6 species challenge). Has Nate knocked his Dad off his perch with his cracking fingermark?? 🤔

Also this month we are having some of the more experienced fishermen teaching the not so experienced how to tie fishing knots and other tackle talk. (there's always more to learn when it comes to fishing)
There will be lots of fishing stories told, raffles and the bar will be open.
