So what a year it has been, from job changes, location changes, lifestyle changes and a divorce! With all of the punches life has thrown at me, i never went down! May have taken a knee once or twice but never went down! After all of this I want to let all of you know, I am the proud owner of the greatest Tackle shop in the world! The Cooktown Lure Shop Tackle World! I want to thank all of those who have supported me on this journey, you all know what you have done and how you have helped my life, thank you so much.

Now for my team, I inherited the best team a GOAT 🐐 could ask for! My biggest thanks goes to you, without my team I wouldn’t be standing! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, my biggest asset and my greatest strength. Abandoned crab pots can be hazardous for water users and can get tangled around marine animals, causing pain and death.

The Queensland Boating and Fisheries Patrol recently teamed up with Maritime Safety Queensland to clean up the Maroochy River and remove these ghost pots.

The clean-up resulted in 48 unlawful crab pots being seized, along with the removal of many ghost pots that had evidence of trapped marine life, and some crab pots being relocated to reduce potential hazards to waterway traffic.

How can you help?

🦀 Remove crab pots from the water before storms.
🦀 Check your pots regularly and repair damaged or faulty pots.
🦀 Make sure your crab pot/dilly is heavy enough and has enough rope attached to the float, so it's not lost in strong tidal currents.
🦀 Report derelict, abandoned or lost crab pots.

It's important to know your responsibilities to avoid having crab pots seized.
