As we mark the second of two NAIDOC Rounds, we celebrate the rich history, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through our game. We wish all of our Cats another fantastic weekend of football, friendship, and community.

Games to follow this weekend… 👀

• Y09-10F return to Friday night football after an outstanding team performance last round. With confidence high following a memorable win and Hollie’s 100-game milestone celebrations, they’ll be looking to carry that momentum into a tough clash with Stirling.

• Y05 Blue are back at Beach Oval after producing what coaches described as their best performance of the season. They’ll be eager to build on that effort against Kingsley, while fresh from training alongside our Year 9 boys, there’ll be plenty of familiar faces cheering them on.

• Y10 head north to Yanchep after grinding out a hard-fought victory in the wet in Round 10. With another challenging away fixture ahead, they’ll be aiming to continue their strong form as the season enters its final stretch.

Good luck to all of our players, coaches, volunteers, and families this weekend. Go Cats!

Smiles, high fives, and big grabs were on display at training last night as our Year 9 boys teamed up with Year 5 Blue for an evening of drills, encouragement, and plenty of speccies.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our older players to share their knowledge, build confidence in the younger Cats, and remind them that every player at Carine is part of the same club.

With both teams playing at home this weekend, they’ll have the chance to cheer each other on from the sideline to further strengthen the connection built at training.

No Melbourne trip would be complete without a visit to the MCG. The boys braved the winter conditions on Saturday to watch Hawthorn and Carlton go head-to-head, adding another memorable experience to an unforgettable few days away.

A huge congratulations to Aden McCann (Y11/12M) on playing his 100th and final game for Carine Junior Football Club in Round 10.

We thank Aden for his positive contribution to Carine JFC over the years, and we wish him all the best as he embarks on his next chapter with the Australian Defence Force.

As part of their Melbourne trip, our Year 10 boys had the opportunity to attend a Melbourne Football Club training session yesterday, where they met players, collected a few autographs, and gained an insight into life at the AFL level.

Making the experience even more special was the chance to catch up with former Carine player Luker Kentfield, whose recent AFL debut has been a source of great pride for our club. Seeing one of our own now wearing the red and blue was a powerful reminder of where hard work, perseverance, and a love for the game can lead.

A huge thank you to Melbourne Football Club and the incredible players for taking the time to make our boys feel so welcome. Moments like these create memories that last a lifetime.

This year’s Year 10 group became the first since COVID to once again take on Greensborough JFC in Melbourne, competing for the Lew Hall Memorial Plaque, a fixture that honours a man whose passion for junior football helped forge the long-standing relationship between our two clubs.

For generations of Carine players, the Melbourne Trip has been about far more than football. It’s about friendships, shared experiences, and celebrating the connection between two community clubs that has endured for decades. A huge thank you to everyone at Greensborough JFC for your wonderful hospitality, we’re proud to continue this tradition together.
