HOW DO WE DEVELOP LEADERS?
In order to become proactive citizens we focus on the following:
1. Master the Art of Failure: Teaching them to understand that failure is not a reflection of them as people, but a tool in which to understand what they need to build into new strengths.
2. We encourage proactive behaviour when the students face adversity or tough times. For instance, when we notice a student is practicing their push ups we acknowledge their hard work and perseverance until finally they perform a full push up on the toes. Praising attributes rather than the end result helps facilitate the desire to push through and learn.
3. We encourage goal-setting. This process allows students to assess their goals and identify foreseeable obstacles in order to create a game plan before the problem even arises. Many times, avoiding the obstacle altogether.
4. We practice helping others, everyday on and off the Mat. We love seeing our students helping their peers with tasks as simple as a Junior helping a Ninja tie their belt, or students practicing their Kata together.

TWINS TRAINING
We love seeing the students apply their techniques to scenarios. This is where key skill development occurs. Anyone can learn a move and practice it against thin air, but to learn how it works in a certain situation with a number of variables is key to mastery.

STUDENT STORIES
We love hearing our Student's Stories especially hearing about the developmental benefits they have gained from martial arts training.
-----
"When considering after-school activities and sports for your child itβs important to consider many things including the costs involved and the perceived benefits for your child.
My little man is 6 years old and he has been doing Karate with Twins Martial Arts since he was 5 (around April 2019) and he has just taken up hip-hop dancing.
When he started Karate last year, his kindergarten noticed a massive improvement in many aspects of kindergarten life that they asked us what had changed to see such drastic improvement.
Simply, it was Karate! Not only is it fun and active, but it helped him to prepare him for his first year of school. The benefits that we have seen and continue to see are:
- building his self confidence
- learning how to set goals
- learning self-improvement
- getting physical in a safe environment (he likes the nunchucks)
- Learn about conflict resolution
But the biggest one of all is learning RESPECT and LISTENING SKILLS. And this spills over into so many important aspects of my little mans life."

HOW TO: Practice Effectively
This is an excellent video for anyone and everyone that has had to practice an activity over and over again. We always encourage our students and staff to keep practising their techniques in the pursuit of mastery. However, we need to understand that repetition itself is not the key to mastery, but also the quality and effectiveness of the practice is what drives us toward improvement.
Watch this awesome Ted Ed video about how to maximise your practice for optimal results.
