Congratulations to Diarmuid and Eimear on their recent wedding in St. Patrick's Church, Millstreet, followed by a wonderful reception in the Great Southern Hotel, Killarney.
Diarmuid has been a major contributor to Garryowen's success both on and off the field, and we were delighted to see him celebrate such a special occasion with family and friends.
A key member of our successful 2024 season, Diarmuid played a huge role in helping the club capture both the Ted O'Sullivan 9s title and the Championship. Along the way, his outstanding performances earned him several Man of the Match awards and cemented his place as one of the team's standout players.
On behalf of everyone in Garryowen, we wish Diarmuid and Eimear a lifetime of health, happiness and success together.
Congratulations and best wishes from all at Garryowen GAA Club.

Garryowen 1-12
Wolfe Tones 0-06
Garryowen booked their place in the next round of the championship with a strong second-half display against Wolfe Tones in difficult conditions at Gaelic Park.
With a strong wind affecting play in the opening stages, both sides found scores hard to come by. Dan OโKeeffe opened the scoring for Garryowen before Billy McConville and Kevin Healy added further points to keep the men in red and black in control. At the other end, Conor Ellis and Piarasy McCaffery were outstanding in defence, helping to limit Wolfe Tonesโ scoring opportunities.
A hard-fought first half saw Garryowen take a two-point advantage into the break, leading 0-04 to 0-02.
Wolfe Tones battled back after the restart and briefly levelled the contest, but Garryowen responded well. A superb two-point score from Sean McSweeney restored the advantage.
Dan OโKeeffe, Kevin Healy and Marky Driscoll continued to keep the scoreboard ticking over as Garryowen gradually took control of the game. The decisive moment arrived when Oisรญn McKenna found the back of the net in style, opening up a commanding lead.
With confidence growing, Garryowen finished strongly and Dara Walsh rounded off the scoring with a fine point before the final whistle.
A disciplined and determined team performance sees Garryowen progress after a well-earned victory over Wolfe Tones.

Garryowen 1-04
Sinn Fรฉin 3-06
It was not to be for our Camogie team on Sunday as their Championship campaign came to an end against a strong Sinn Fรฉin side.
With Sinn Fรฉin playing with the aid of a stiff breeze in the opening half, Garryowen faced an uphill battle but showed tremendous heart, determination and resilience throughout. Outstanding performances from Rรณisรญn Clancy, Heather Hayes and Niamh Donnellan helped keep the girls battling, while the entire team worked tirelessly from first whistle to last.
Trailing 2-05 to 0-00 at half-time, Garryowen emerged with renewed energy in the second half. Amy Keating opened the scoring before adding another point, Emma Cody also got on the scoresheet, while Aoife Dillon gave the team a boost with an excellently taken goal. Despite their relentless effort, Garryowen were unable to close the gap and Sinn Fรฉin progressed to the final.
While Sundayโs result was disappointing, there is so much for this group to be proud of. The season saw the introduction of new players, strong performances throughout the year and a historic achievement when the girls became the first Camogie team in club history to win the Ted OโSullivan 9โs Tournament. The dramatic penalty shootout victory in the final will live long in the memory of everyone involved.
The girls also impressed in the Pearses 7โs Tournament, reaching the semi-finals, and continued to represent the club with pride throughout the league and championship campaigns.
On behalf of everyone at Garryowen GAC, we would like to thank every player who represented the club this season. A special word of thanks and best wishes to those who have recently returned home, or will soon begin their journey back to Ireland. Your dedication on the training field and match day never went unnoticed, and the friendships, memories and experiences created this year will remain long after the final whistle.

Garryowen 4-09
Wolfe Tones 0-04
Garryowenโs Ladies Intermediate Footballers got their 2026 GGV Championship campaign off to the perfect start with an impressive 4-09 to 0-04 victory over Wolfe Tones yesterday on a windy afternoon in Gaelic Park.
The girls settled quickly into the contest and made their intentions clear from the opening stages. An early goal from Aoife Nic A Bhรกird provided the ideal start before further scores from Aoife, Claire Fennell and Niamh OโBrien helped Garryowen establish an early advantage.
At the opposite end of the pitch, the defensive unit was in outstanding form. Rhona McDonagh, Siobhรกn Moley and Emma OโHara were resolute throughout the opening half, limiting Wolfe Tones to just a single point. Emma Cody was equally influential, working tirelessly to drive the ball forward and create attacking opportunities.
As the first half drew to a close, Niamh OโBrien struck for Garryowenโs second goal, giving the side a commanding lead heading into the break. Half Time: Garryowen 2-06 Wolfe Tones 0-01
Garryowen carried their momentum into the second half and wasted little time extending their lead. Claire Fennell found the back of the net early after the restart before Aoife Santry added another goal moments later to put the game firmly beyond Wolfe Tonesโ reach.
Further strong performances followed across the pitch. Mรฉabh Donaghy worked tirelessly throughout, while Aimee Lannigan was solid in the full-back line and Mairead Landers played a vital role around the middle third, linking defence and attack effectively.
Garryowen continued to chip away at the scoreboard while maintaining their defensive discipline, ensuring Wolfe Tones struggled to gain a foothold in the contest.
Following last weekendโs disappointment in the League Final, this was an excellent response from the squad and a performance full of determination, teamwork and quality football as they opened their Championship campaign with a convincing victory.

Garryowen 2-08
Pearses 0-11
Garryowen secured their place in the next round of the GGV Celtic Club Championship with a hard-fought three-point victory over Pearses in an entertaining encounter at Gaelic Park.
The game got underway at a high intensity, with Brian Clifford opening the scoring for Garryowen before Pearses responded almost immediately. Both sides showed great defensive discipline throughout the opening half, with turnovers and strong tackling making scoring opportunities difficult to come by.
Sean McSweeney produced one of the scores of the game with a superb two-pointer to edge Garryowen in front, but Pearses continued to battle hard and kept the contest finely balanced. The breakthrough moment came when Sean McCarthy found the back of the net, giving Garryowen a valuable advantage heading towards the interval.
Despite the goal, Pearses remained firmly in the contest and the sides went in at the break with Garryowen holding a narrow lead, 1-04 to 0-06.
McSweeney got the second half underway in perfect fashion for Garryowen, adding an early point to settle the side. The introduction of Paudy Clancy provided fresh energy, helping Garryowen move the ball effectively through the middle third and create scoring opportunities.
A crucial moment arrived when Dan OโKeeffe raised the green flag, stretching Garryowenโs advantage and putting Pearses under pressure. To their credit, Pearses responded strongly and battled their way back into the game, drawing level as the contest entered the final ten minutes.
With the game in the balance, Garryowenโs experience showed. Oisรญn McKenna and Dan OโKeeffe both landed important scores to restore the lead before Eoin Lambert produced a lung-busting run the length of the pitch to split the posts and put three points between the sides heading into the closing stages.
Garryowen managed the final minutes well and held firm defensively to secure a deserved victory and continue their championship campaign.

St Kevinโs 0-14 (14)
Back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back. Sรฉ i ndiaidh a chรฉile.
Garryowen Senior Menโs Footballers claimed their 6th consecutive GGV League title on Sunday morning in Gaelic Park after a brilliant team performance against a determined St Kevinโs side.
Garryowen started the game strongly with a solid defensive display from Ciaran Hanley, Paudy Clancy and Eoin Farnan, who set the tone early with some outstanding defending. Despite St Kevinโs opening the scoring with the first point of the game, Garryowen responded immediately through Dan OโKeefe before fine scores from Jordan OโConnor and Sean McSweeney settled the side.
St Kevinโs continued to apply pressure throughout the opening half, but Garryowen kept control with important scores at key moments. Brian Clifford added another fine point as Garryowen pushed ahead entering the closing stages of the half.
The moment of the game came shortly before half time when Sean McSweeney produced an unbelievable strike from a 50-yard free kick that somehow found the back of the net, lifting the Garryowen support and giving the side real momentum.
Around the middle of the field, Sean Ryan and Stephen Cahill formed a dominant partnership, winning kick-outs and controlling possession from both sides. Kenny Garvey also chipped in with two important points before the half time whistle as Garryowen went in leading 1-09 to 0-04.
St Kevinโs came out strongly in the second half and quickly added two points, but Garryowen responded once again through Sean McSweeney with a superb two-pointer. As the game tightened up, St Kevinโs continued to battle hard and kept the pressure firmly on Garryowen.
Eoin Lambert played a vital role throughout the second half, linking defence and attack and keeping the ball moving brilliantly. Joe Sweeney, returning from regional duties, slotted straight back into the side and played as if he had never been away.
In the closing stages, Garryowen showed their experience and composure to see the game out strongly and secure another historic league title for the club.
Comhghairdeas to all players and management on an incredible achievement.
