It’s been so exciting to see the audition applications coming in for our 2027 Extension Program! 🎉

It’s also been wonderful speaking with families who have been in touch to learn more. ✨

To answer some things families have been asking us we’ve put together a series of FAQs.

This program has been created for dancers who are ready to challenge themselves and take their training to the next level, who show the potential and commitment required for a more intensive pathway within a supportive pre-professional environment.

Auditions are being held on Friday October 2nd.

✨ Rehearsals have officially begun for our production of Don Quixote! ✨

And our senior dancers have their first big extended senior company rehearsal today from 10am-3pm! ⭐️

The studio has been filled with joy and excitement as we take the first steps towards piecing together this large and exciting ballet production. From the smallest details to the grandest moments, the journey has begun!

✨ 2027 SUMMER SCHOOL ✨

Hinterland Dance Academy is excited to welcome dancers from across the Gold Coast and beyond to our 2027 Summer School on January 9 & 10!

Our Summer School is open to ALL dancers, you don’t need to be an HDA student to attend. This is a wonderful opportunity to start the year with inspiring classes and expert coaching!

🌟 THREE LEVELS AVAILABLE:

🩰 Junior: Ages 7–10
🩰 Intermediate: RAD Grade 5 / Intermediate Foundation
🩰 Senior: RAD Intermediate / Advanced+

Across the weekend, dancers will receive training in classical ballet, repertoire and conditioning, developing their technique, strength, artistry and performance skills.

✨ CONCERT SEASON HAS OFFICIALLY COMMENCED! ✨

It’s so exciting to have officially moved onto setting our concert choreography this week! 🩰💃🏼

More and more boxes of beautiful costumes (and fans! 😂🪭) are arriving in the post each day, and we are SO excited to be starting this wonderful project with our dancers!

The excitement is building as we begin bringing Don Quixote to life. A beautiful Spanish-inspired ballet filled with colourful characters, lots of spice, and plenty of gorgeous dancing! 🩰 💃🏼 🪭 🌹🇪🇸

We can’t wait to share it with our audiences on November 4th! ❤️🤍🖤🤍❤️

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of you! It was such a privilege to watch your beautiful dancing today and see the wonderful results of the training, dedication and care you have received from our excellent HDA faculty throughout the year so far. 🩰✨

The big day is almost here! 🩰 After months of training, hard work and preparation, it’s time to enjoy the moment and show us what you can do.

Remember to breathe, smile, turnout, pointe your feet, stretch your legs 😉 … and most importantly, enjoy your dancing! 💕✨

Trust your training and remember that we are so proud of the effort and dedication you have shown throughout your preparation.

✨ Assessment & Exam Season is here! ✨

The countdown is on! Our dancers are putting the finishing touches on their ballet work as we head into HDA’s upcoming Assessment Day and then our RAD examinations. 🩰

There has been so much focus, determination and hard work in the studio and amongst all the concentration, there are still plenty of moments of joy! 💕✨😁

We can’t wait to see our dancers show us what they can do and enjoy every moment! 🌸
