Castlemaine parkrun Castlemaine parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run / walk put on by the community for the community at 8a The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Castlemaine parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful Botanical Gardens and get physically active in the process. We want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

Sept 12th - Fast finish this morning with Quinn pipping Ben by 1 sec at the post and slicing 40 seconds off his PB! Ben also smashed his PB, as did Hayden, Isaac and Josh the next 3 finishers!

Congratulations to our four milestoners this week, Paul 200, Ross 200, Monica 250 and Jenny 25). We’re very excited about the new parkrun milestones for 00s (200, 300, 400 and so on) even though they don't officially start 'til Mon Sept 14th 🤩

If you've been thinking of giving volunteering at parkrun a go we have a great opportunity for you! We have two positions we need to fill for this Saturday; timekeeper and back up barcode scanner. If you can help with either of these positions please let us know. If you're new to volunteering don't worry, it's easy as. You only need a phone, we'll give you plenty of instructions. And it's good fun!
