A fabulous night celebrating the clubs Premiership winning season. A season where the team went through undefeated to claim the 2025/2026 Premiership 🥇🏆

On a sunny and comfortable day, our Captain Chris Adams lost the toss to Elwood and were invited to bowl first. The bowlers were very disciplined, bowling an excellent line and length and were backed up with exceptional fielding. Hellenic restricted Elwood to a modest 8/121 off their 35 overs.

Nick Exton, 8 Overs 2 Maidens 3 Wickets for 20.
Ankit Shinde, 8 Overs 2 Maidens 2 Wickets for 19.
Ksh*tij Shivani, 8 Overs 2 Wickets for 34.
Haseem Akram, 8 Overs 1 Wicket for 36.
Vinay Choudhary, 3 Overs for 6

Chasing small totals in big games is not always easy. Hellenic needed to get off to a good start with the openers Chris Adams and Sam Bromiley. They batted very well together and made a solid start to the innings with a partnership of 43, before Sam was dismissed for 13.
Ksh*tij Shivani joined Chris and they put on another important partnership of 27, when Ksh*tij was out for 10 and the score was on 2/70. Unfortunately Chris was dismissed soon after for a well made 35 and the score was now 3/70.

There were some nervous Hellenic supporters after the fall of 2 quick wickets.

At the crease were 2 new batsman, Vinay Choudhary and Freddie Leighton who both hadn’t scored as yet. They batted extremely well together and quickly restored Hellenic’s strong position. They combined for a match winning partnership of 52 to claim a history making victory and achieving “BACK to BACK to BACK Premierships” for the Club.

Hellenic ended up scoring 4/122 in their innings and had 5 overs to spare. Vinay made an entertaining 18n.o. and Freddie a hard hitting 31.

Once we passed Elwoods score, players, friends and supporters all ran on to the field, embracing and cheering the victorious winning team.

SEMI FINAL RESULT

HELLENIC wins their Semi Final with 8 wickets in hand and have advanced into their 3rd consecutive Grand Final.

Melbourne Hellenic 2/99 vs Brighton Union All Out 97.

Chris Adams won the toss and elected to bowl first. In their best all round bowling and fielding performance of the season, Hellenic bowled out a strong Brighton Union unit for only 97 runs.

Brighton Union were in trouble from the start and had collapsed to be at one stage 6/31 and were eventually bowled out in the 34th over. Nick Exton had the best bowling figures taking 4/21, Ankit Shinde 3/18 and Haseem Akram 2/18.

With only a small total to chase, Chris Adams and Sam Bromiley opened the batting and put on 31 before Sam was caught for 28. Ksh*tij Shivani then joined Chris and they combined for a partnership of 51 when Ksh*tij was caught for 33. Chris and Vinay Choudhary then took the score to 99 and victory.

We now move onto next Saturday and into another Grand Final playing against Elwood.
