A few more pictures from Arthurs Lake the other day. September is a tricky month for trout fishing, I find. It is a bit of an in-between month where the highs of trout opening is behind us, and the hatches and good fishing are still ahead of us.
Anyway, I will try to film a proper video soon and keep the ball rolling as we head further into the trout season.

Grey skies and a bit of a breeze. The scene was set for a good session on Arthurs Lake.
I cast wet flies around the edges of the lake for a few hours, picking up fish frequently enough to keep me entertained. I haven't done a lot of blind-casting with wet flies over the years, so it was nice to not only fish in a new location, but to have success using a technique that is fairly new to me.

This baby snap was thinking it was a bream, hanging out up the river. I'm looking forward to trying to get some bigger models as spring warms up.

It certainly is hard to beat sight fishing for trout in shallow water. This fish didn't hesitate to eat an unweighted woolly bu**er.
With the weather slowly warming up, the fishing will continue to improve over the next few months!

A few scenes from the trout season so far. I'm confident that it will be a good one. The frogs will be in abundance soon, and the mayfly hatches will sneak up on us.

There's a new episode up on YouTube now! Four Springs, Tassie's most popular early season destination. The fishing was patchy, but I landed a handful over the weekend.

Early morning out at Four Springs with Alex Fulton was a success! Getting a few fish on wet flies was fun, and not something that I have done very much of in the past. Even though there was plenty of time in between fish, it was great to be back out on the water and trout fishing again. Here's to a good season!
