Performance and training is bigger than sets, reps and flat out coaching.

The more I do this, the clearer it gets. Connection and trust with an athletes/person moves the needle the most

Broad jumps teach athletes to project hard and cover ground which is great for horizontal power and it’s a quality that transfers straight to acceleration.

Add bands and the demand changes.

Banded broad jumps teach to use more intent wbu h means more force output, more hip projection and longer force application.

More force. Better projection. Stronger transfer to sport. Use these to become more athletic.

Follow for more like this.
Help develop athletes by bridging the gap between the local and the elite.

Speed training is more than just getting faster.

Speed is a skill, and like any skill, it needs to be developed through consistent exposure and quality practice.

Good speed training can help athletes:
- Improve coordination
- Become more effective at hitting key positions
- Improve overall movement quality
- Develop greater resilience
- Move more efficiently

Getting faster is the obvious goal.

But the qualities we develop through speed training can also improve how an athlete moves, trains and performs across their sport.

Speed isn’t just an outcome. It’s a skill worth developing.

Rugby league athletes 🏉

A simple way to find what you need to improve this offseason is write a checklist.

Take your top 2-3 weaknesses and build your offseason around those. There’s no need to over complicate it.

If you need help with your off-season plan. DM or comment ‘base’ and let’s get started.

Acceleration and change of direction session example with Rugby League athlete Mya 🧨

Main focus for Mya at the moment is footwork and transition from lateral to linear.

Here we started with the work that primes before going into the drills and then finishing with the efforts.

Basics done with Intent is the name of the game and Mya has come a long way!

Program and coaching spots available.

Strong hams, back and glutes are vital to being an explosive athlete.

The posterior chain plays a big role in generating and absorbing force which helps with 👇

More explosive hip extension = faster sprints

Stronger hamstrings = fewer soft tissue injuries

More strength going into contact/tackles = win more collisions

Don’t neglect it and reap the benefits

If you are an athlete and you aren’t doing some variation of broad jumps you’re missing out on its many benefits that would increase your performance.

Broad jumps are one of the most versatile exercises out there to develop horizontal power and force production.

This makes broad jumps a great transfer to acceleration due as these qualities are important.

They can be done resisted or unresisted. Inside or outside. Double leg or single leg. Stick the landings or multiple contacts. As you can see there’s multiple uses for them.

This allows you to get them done anywhere and anytime to reap the performance benefits of such a simple exercise.
