Congratulations to our junior award winners for the season.

Well done to all of the players for some outstanding performances over the 2025/26 season.

Big thank you to all coaches for their commitment to developing the individual skills of the players and creating a fun team environment.

Also, a big shout out to all the team managers and parents who provide amazing support and give up their time for their kids to play at this level of cricket.

Coaching announcement - Michael Munn U15.5 Coach

I wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to coach the under 15.5 team next year. As a coach I am about player development, it is something I’m deeply passionate about. With the experience I’ve gained over the years, I’m confident I’ll be able to help these young players not only improve their skills on the field next season, but also grow and benefit from what they learn for many years to come.

Cricket has been an integral part of my life from a very young age. I was fortunate enough to play for Woodville District Club for more than a decade, where I bowled off spin and batted in the middle order. My time at Woodville is filled with memories not just in competition against talented opponents, but also of the lifelong friends and unforgettable experiences the game brought me.

Thank you once again for entrusting me with this role. I look forward to working with these young players and sharing my love for the sport, helping them find both success and joy on their cricket journey.

Coaching Announcement
U14 Assistant Coach - Michael Thomas
Our assistant coach recently retired from playing after 34 years of cricket. He started his career at Glenelg Cricket Club in the juniors and seniors working his way up from Under 13s all the way to the A grade before playing 20 + years of A Grade cricket at Cove Cricket Club.

Michael has coached across both junior and senior levels for many years, bringing a wealth of experience to the role. He believes in training how you play, maintaining high standards, and ensuring every player continues to develop and improve while keeping “Team first” as the main priority.

Coaching Appointment - U14 Head Coach Marty Clifton
Marty is stepping up to play a dual role as U14 Coach and Talent Manager in 2026/27.

Marty has significant playing and coaching experience across both premier cricket and SANFL football. Recently Marty has filled roles in the development programs at both South Adelaide FC and SDCC.

Marty is passionate about developing our talent from the southern and great southern regions. He can't wait to take on our talented U14 group and work with a coaching group with loads of cricket experience and strong talent development backgrounds.

U13 Assistant Coach - Serge Minot
Profile: I’m super excited to be part of the Stingrays’ coaching team and Junior program in 2026/27.
My passion for cricket stems from my playing days representing Willunga CC and the GSCA, and continues today through my role as a junior coach with both Willunga and GSCA representative teams.

I’m looking forward to working with Brendan, Marty and the wider team to help develop the talented players the Southern Fleurieu has to offer.

Coaching Appointment

U13 Head Coach - Brendan McKeough
Profile: Brendan is a former Southern Districts Stingrays player, representing the club from juniors through to senior level. A medium-fast bowler and dependable lower-order batter (although his former teammates may debate that! 😄), Brendan also played A-Grade cricket with the Reynella Cricket Club.

During his late teens and into adulthood, Brendan shifted his focus toward football, playing with the South Adelaide Football Club and later the Reynella Football Club, where he spent 10 years as a player and is now a life member.

Brendan brings extensive coaching experience, having coached in a football environment for the past 13 years. He is currently completing his Level 3 coaching accreditation, the highest coaching qualification within the SANFL pathway. Alongside this, he is the current coach of the Reynella Football Club A-Grade senior side, as well as the Southern Football League A-Grade representative team and the Southern Districts representative football program, incorporating SFL, GSFL and KIFL competitions.

Brendan’s passion lies in the development of young people and athletes. He strongly believes every child develops at their own pace and focuses on helping players become the best version of themselves. His coaching approach emphasises strong standards, teamwork, and creating a positive environment where players can compete hard on weekends while still enjoying the game — because enjoyment is one of the most powerful ways to learn and improve.
