The Adelaide Aces are holding a special comedy roast for Mal Sporne to celebrate his contributions to the Aces now that he has retired from the Presidency role. This WAS a surprise event, but he knows it’s happening now.

Tickets can be purchased through this link. Your ticket includes a meal (which you can select from 6 meals on the list) during the ticket sale process. https://www.trybooking.com/DPDGY

If you can't attend the event, but have some funny stories about Mal (we know there's plenty of them), please message us so we can share them on the night.

If you are thinking about attending this event, please purchase your tickets ASAP as there has been a lot of interest, but it’s not showing in ticket sales yet. We need confirmed numbers ASAP to ensure the event is viable.

If you can think of anybody that would be interested on attending or being a roaster, please forward this information on. We are heavily reliant on this being shared with any relevant people.

Kings Weekend Challenge Recap - B's

Game One vs Northern Aces
With Rob West starting on the bump and Peter behind the dish, the team looked good from the start. The weather wasn’t kind, with light rain hanging around, but Rob showed true grit and pitched an outstanding game.

The bats came alive with The Chad, Peter, Rob and John Holland all putting one over the fence. Defence was strong, with Chad starring at third base and having a game to remember.

We took the chocolates, 10–2.

Game Two vs Mt Gambier
Against our good friends from Mt Gambier, Evan Yang started on the hill and looked very sharp. A couple of injuries to Chad and Dave August from the previous game changed the squad dynamic a little, but the team kept pushing.

Evan was strong on the mound and also hit a bomb, followed by Peter putting one over as well. The team was up and about and took another win, 9–1.

End of Day One: undefeated.

Game Three vs Kensington Ballers
New recruit Jarome took the start, with Ivan behind the dish. We came out firing, scoring five runs in the first inning. Ivan hit a bomb in his very first at bat, and Peter wasn’t shy either, joining him with one over the fence along with Chad.

The Ballers managed to score a few runs while we played in true Masters spirit, which may have cost us gold in the end, but we were proud of how we played the game.

We took the win, 10–5.

Game Four vs Playford City
Playford were a real challenge bringing a relitivly serious approach to the game compared to the other teams, but we managed to beat them at their own game.

John Holland did a great job for the team on the hill and also hit a bomb, with Rob deciding to join in with one of his own.

End of Day Two: undefeated.

A huge well done to the whole team. We played the competition the right way, went undefeated, and fell just short of gold by only three runs.

Hope everyone had a great weekend representing the Adelaide Aces.

Until next time, look after yourselves.
