VALE NCSC Life Member - Peter Tanham
Newman Churchlands Swimming Club expresses our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Peter Tanham who sadly passed away over the weekend.
Peter Tanham was instrumental in founding the Newman Churchlands Swimming Club (originally named Marist Community Amateur Swimming Club) on 29 June 1976 along with Ken Spillman and other families. Peter was inducted as a Life Member of the Club in 1983 and his legacy to the Club has continued through the participation of his children and grandchildren in Club membership and administration.
Peter was also one of the founders of the Rottnest Channel Swim and completed 31 solo crossings. In 2015, Peter was inducted into the RCSA Hall of Fame and as an Honouree in the Australian Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame class of 2020/2021.
On behalf of NCSC members, both past and present, thank you Peter for your amazing contributions to the WA swimming community.

Newman Churchlands Swimming Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Clark Carlson to the position of Head Coach. Clark brings with him many years of coaching experience at various metropolitan swim clubs, with a keen focus on the technical development of junior and senior competitive and social swimmers.

Registrations are now open for the NCSC Club Championships on Saturday 1 April 2023.
Warm up: 12.15pm - 12.45pm. First race is 1pm
Registrations close 8pm, Thursday 30th March 2023.
No BBQ will be held so please bring your own snacks. Raffles and club merchandise will be available for sale.
Trophies will be awarded at a separate ceremony after the collation of results.
This is the last Club Meet for the 2022/2023 Summer Season so please come along and make this a fun and spirited competition.

It's going to be a balmy evening so get on down and cheer your swimmers on, grab a hamburger or sausage sizzle.
Get onto registering your swimmers for their preferred events. You'll find all the details in an email sent late last week.

Get excited everyone, we have a fun packed February ahead! Some highlights (Apart from the obvious one of school going back next week) are:
FRI 3rd Feb - Club Meet #3 is on:
Kicks off at 4pm for warm-ups, races start at 4:30pm SHARP ! !
SAT 4th Feb - Technical Sessions #2:
3-4pm and open to all club members
SUN 5th Feb - Moora Open Swimming Carnival:
The coaches will be travelling to Moora with a group of swimmers to compete at the Moora Open - anyone is welcome. Please talk to Coaches Ralph and Clark.
SAT 11th Feb - Club Premierships:
12pm warm-up, 1pm March past Parade, 1.15pm Race start time. The Coaches have started assigning names to Club Prem races, but we need to know if you are available to swim. Please email [email protected] or tell your swimming coach of your availability to represent the Club.
