Club training is important. It teaches sport-specific skills, teamwork and game experience.

But most club sessions are not designed to systematically develop:

• Strength
• Speed
• Jumping ability
• Movement quality
• Physical confidence
• Resilience to training and competition demands

That is where strength and conditioning fits.

Club training and athletic development do different jobs. One helps your child become better at their sport. The other helps them build the physical qualities required to perform that sport safely and confidently.

At D8 Training, our JuniorGym program helps young athletes develop strength, coordination and movement through structured, age-appropriate coaching.

No random workouts. No treating kids like miniature adults. Just a clear process designed to help them improve.

If you’re wondering whether JuniorGym could be a good fit for your child, send us a message or visit the link below.

When your coach demos the exercise perfectly… and your brain goes “nah, I’ll freestyle it instead.” 😂

Most adults aren’t “uncoachable.” They’ve just never had clear cues and a coach who actually watches their form.

That’s why our sessions are small, coached and corrected rep by rep.

Meet Lachy, our newest Strength & Performance Coach at D8 Training.

He’s a basketballer and footy player with a background in strength and mobility, and he loves helping juniors, athletes, adults and over‑60s move better, get stronger and feel more confident in the gym.

You’ll see him coaching JuniorGym, teen athletes in our Athlete & 10‑Week Accelerator blocks, Adult Strength, ForeverStrength 60+ and 1:1 PT – make sure you say hi when you see him on the floor.

You were looking for 10 ways to skip the gym without feeling guilty…

Instead you just watched a whole Reel about not training. 😂

If you’re well enough to scroll, you’re well enough to move.
You could be training.

Save this for the next time your brain starts hunting for excuses.

Fast isn’t just running in a straight line.

In our JuniorGym sessions we use the 5–10–5 agility test to show kids what real change of direction is all about – accelerating, braking and reacting quickly to a call.

Over time we see their speed improve, but just as importantly, their confidence grows as they feel more in control of their body and movement.

This is why we don’t just “run kids tired” – we teach them how to move with purpose. 🧠💪

Keen for your child to build real athletic foundations, not just do random drills?
