The NSW Judges' Subcommittee is happy to welcome our latest G level judge to the NSW Dressage Judges' list.

Tiffany Player, of Cessnock, has been involved with horses and the dressage community for the past nine years, spending countless hours beside the arena watching, learning and developing her understanding of the sport. She was the treasurer of Singleton Dressage Club committee for four years and says she has been privileged to pencil for many wonderful judges along the way.

"As the mother of a young rider, I have seen first hand the positive impact that encouragement and support can have on a young competitor," Tiffany explained. "This has shaped my passion for supporting the next generation of riders and contributing to their development and enjoyment of the sport."

Tiffany has a strong background in ballet, including teaching young dancers throughout the Hunter, which she says has also influenced her love of dressage. The shared principles of balance, rhythm, precision, discipline and harmony, she says, have always resonated with her.

"I am incredibly grateful to the many judges who have supported and shared their knowledge throughout my journey, particularly Ann-Maree Lourey, Nell Marshman and Julie Jones, whose guidance helped me to achieve my G Level accreditation.

"I look forward to continuing to learn and contributing to the NSW dressage community while supporting riders on their own journeys."

Welcome aboard, Tiffany!

A huge congratulations to our judge Kerry Crees, of Armidale, who has just passed her B level examinations with flying colours.

In addition, Kerry has been made a mentor, which will be a huge asset to the north of the state.

Kerry has been involved with horses professionally for 48 years. She first became interested in dressage while working in Austria, enjoying the opportunity to watch morning work at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna. It wasn't until she emigrated to Australia that she owned her first horse and become involved with the Armidale Riding Club. Kerry was fortunate to later own a thoroughbred that she trained on the track successfully, evented - and then competed to Intermediare I.

An opportunity presented itself to Kerry to start her journey judging when Armidale Riding Club hosted a judges' clinic. She thought it was good idea to be able to give back to the sport that she enjoyed.

Recently, with the decreasing number of judges available in rural NSW, Kerry decided that it was time to challenge herself to upgrade.

"I have really appreciated the support given to me from Dressage NSW and numerous judges that have guided me through the process," she said. "I am looking forward to continuing my judging journey to wherever it takes me."
