Self Care is not a Reward ✨
Self Care is your Right
It’s not a reward for the constant grinding and mental and physical busyness we experience daily
It’s not a reward for those 10kms you ran
It’s not a reward for you staying up all night to finish that assignment
It’s not a reward for pushing yourself to the absolute limit until you can bear no more, fall in a heap and then call sleep self care
Self Care shouldn’t be optional
Self Care is a non negotiable right we have to show ourselves love and to replenish what has been depleted
Without guilt
Without impatience
If we don’t practice this sacred ritual,
and you can make anything feel sacred and special if you choose to,
Our minds and bodies become no longer ours and are slave to the constant demands of life
Leaving us tired & irritable or worse, unwell
Slow down
Calm down
Let the leaves settle
Stop
Smell the roses
Look up
Start small if you need to
Your mind & body and all the people around you will thank you so entirely for you taking care of you
We are better souls when we are happy, calm & clear

Practicing Self Love & Care ✨
My version today is a 20 minute Gentle Backbend inspired by .lasater’s last Sunday Savasana Newsletter, over my favourite blanket with my favourite soul keeping me company as always on my mat 🤍
This nervous system reset is exactly what I needed
But what you can’t hear is the construction going on next door to me and my determination to rest & release despite of distraction ✨

SELF CARE MONDAY ✨
I’m starting this week off right by prioritising my Self Care which I’ve let slip as we can do when we get busy with life,
Here’s what I’m doing today to fill my cup 🥰
Gardening - Helps to ground me and I love watching my plants grow
Yin Yoga - to gently and mindfully awaken my body for the day
Meditation - To bring my mind, body & spirit into balance, whether it’s short or a little longer, a little can go a long way consistently
Beauty Hunt - watch for Butterflies and Bees and any flowers opening the garden helps me find my Gratitude each day
Cooking - will be batch cooking a Vegetarian Stroganoff and Japanese Stir Fry to ease the worry of cooking during the week and I can then eat healthily & mindfully
Last but not least, spending time with Doug, our Labrador, the best Yoga Buddy ✨
