In Tribute to Quentin Thomson (QT)
Today we pause to remember and honour a truly valued member of our cricket family, whose passion, commitment, and quiet dedication left a lasting mark on our club. A Life Member, dedicated groundsman, turf curator, previous club secretary, coach and current club patron.
His contribution went beyond the boundary. He was a familiar face, a steady presence, and someone who embodied the true spirit of cricket — humility, respect, and community. Whether sharing a quiet word, offering advice, or simply watching on with satisfaction or sometimes dissatisfaction as play unfolded.
He reminded us all of what makes a club more than just a place to play. His legacy lives on in the grounds he so lovingly prepared, in the matches played upon them, and in the memories shared by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family Maree, Matt & Kimberly, Chris & Rhiannan, Aribella, Sofia and Hugo. He will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
Rest in peace QT.

⭐️ Community Cricket Awards 2025-26 ⭐️
Redlands Cricket Inc. identified that many young cricketers were falling through the cracks in their transition from Blast Cricket through to Junior Formats and wanted to find a way to bridge the gap. Hence, Trebles Cricket, hosted by Cleveland Thornlands Cricket Club, was developed. The idea was to create a carnival for young, developing players—especially Blast graduates—who need a gentle, fun, inclusive introduction to junior cricket, with a particular focus on girls and mixed gender participation. The 2025/26 season marked the second year of the Trebles Cricket Carnival and was a huge success. The atmosphere was a highlight, with all the RCI clubs present and competing together at the same venue, while music was playing, an inflatable was utilised by all, and the canteen was open with the BBQ cooking up snags. The carnival created connection within the RCI cricket community and provided a fun carnival experience for the junior cricketers. It also was a chance for the RCI blast cricketers to participate in a big day of cricket and see what JF1 Cricket looks like. It not only attracted nine teams from across the Redlands Cricket Inc. community - representing a total of seventy-two junior participants - but all Club Blast participants from local clubs were invited to attend, to play modified Blast format games, and experience the atmosphere of a larger community cricket event. The event not only delivered a high-quality playing experience but also demonstrated leadership in fostering participation and supporting the long-term growth of cricket in the region.

The Cleveland Thornlands Cricket Club celebrated it very own Half Century of Cricket yesterday.
Formed in 1975 through the merger of Cleveland and Thornlands clubs, the organisation brought together two proud local cricket traditions that had long served the community. From humble beginnings at the Cleveland Showgrounds on Long St, the club found its permanent home at Henry Ziegenfusz Park, with first games played there in the 1983–84 season.
It was great seeing so many past presidents, members and players returning to the club for a catch up.
Congratulations and Thank You to all of our Members, Players, Volunteers and Committee members past and present who have kept this club going for these past 50years.
