It is with deep sadness that the Fairfield Cricket Club announce the passing of a club legend last night, the very heart and soul of our club Margaret Watt. The space that Margaret leaves in our hearts will never be filled. Our thoughts and love are with Micky, Nicole, Simone and the whole Watt family.
May She rest in peace.

We are extremely excited to announce Jarad Battenally as the new club captain/coach for season 20/21

Jarad is joining us after playing the last couple of seasons in the Geelong & Lara areas. He has previous experience as a Captain/Coach within the NMCA, and is excited to be returning.

We are confident the appointment of Jarad will lead to a successful season both on and off the field for the Fairfield Cricket Club.

Let’s all make him feel welcome.

The second inaugural Women's Inter Association Representative Match was played this evening at Kevin Bartlett Reserve, Burnley.

Cricket Southern Bayside batted first, completing their innings 10/83 off 18 overs. The North Metro Cricket Association commenced the chase and were 4/70 after 15.1 overs when the game was interrupted by injury and then subsequently reverted to the DLS method due to poor light.

According to the DLS, the NMCA were deemed victors on the night, and have retained the trophy for the second year in a row!

Lauren Byrnes was named Player of the Match for the NMCA and Zoe (who owns the showstopping shoulder) is making a speedy recovery!

An ENORMOUS congratulations to the entire NMCA team, the coaches and the many, many spectators who were in attendance on your continued love, participation and support of Women's Cricket.

Our squad have been training hard leading up to the match against Cricket Southern Bayside on Friday 7th February.

The much loved 'Player Profiles' are back this season, and we will be introducing all of the players in our squad each day leading up to the match :D

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the 1979-80 "A Grade" premiership and the 30th anniversary of the 1989-90 "A & B Grade" premierships.
Our aim is now hopefully to track down a few more past players – especially any of those involved
in these premiership teams - so if you are in contact with anyone from the past please pass on our details or send us their details and we will make contact with them. Also if anyone has any photos, videos, tapes of any special occassions in the history of the Fairfield Cricket Club, we would love to try and get copies made to use on the day, or at
a later date.

We welcome 2 new additions to the club. Our bowling machines are a great reason to get down to training if not for our great family atmosphere!
