Senki Martial Arts Centre is honoured to Host a Boxing training session this Wednesday Evening at 7pm (3rd of March) by a True Champion - Steve Cansdell.
Steve Cansdell debuted his Professional boxing career in 1969 and retired in 1983.
Steve boasts an impressive Professional fight record of 29 bouts - 18W, 10L, 1D.
Became Australian Professional Light Heavyweight Champion in 1973/1974 and was Queensland Professional Heavyweight Champion in 1978 to 1981.
Steve is a true believer of "the basics" and will largely focus on this at Wednesday evenings training session along with other pertinent aspects of how to train to become a champion and what it takes.
I had the good fortune to meet Steve here at Senki 3 weeks ago when he brought his protégé Tom down from Grafton to spar Angus Percy in preparation for upcoming Amateur fights.
From the moment I shook Steve's hand he impressed the s**t out of me. Through speaking to him and sensing his presence I knew he was the "real deal". He has gained my respect and I look forward to watching him conduct this training session.
The cost is $10.00 per person - come prepared with hand wraps and gloves and be warmed up and ready for a 7.10pm start.

Senki Martial Arts Centre this evening played Host to a Amateur Boxing Sparring Event.
The event was well presented from North Coast Members of the NSW Amateur Boxing League and other Stables in the area. Exponents got to put their training skills to practice up against other Stables which helps them gauge their development, confidence and composure which is very much "outside of normal training" experienced from week to week.
Stable Trainers from Kempsey (George Ptolemy), Dorrigo (Brian Darby), C4 (Chris Helback), Grafton (Dean Cribb), Coffs Harbour Boxing Club (Matt Watt) and The Lions Den Boxing (Josh Sykes) should all be proud of the courage displayed in the ring this evening.
Well Done everyone that jumped into the ring and had a go.
The success of this event has had trainers leaving with one question in mind...............when is the next one being held.
The next one is being ear tagged for four weeks - towards the end of February.
