FROM DAY 1 TO THE BIG 1.

Nobody could have predicted the fairytale that would unfold when this group came together and started building a team from scratch this year.

Some had played rugby league before. Some had never played the game. Many had never played alongside each other.

They started with nothing more than a group of women willing to have a crack, believe in each other and commit to building something special.

Today, they are PREMIERS.

This season asked plenty of them. They trained, learned, fought through adversity and kept turning up for one another. They played hurt. They strapped themselves up and took the field carrying injuries because the player beside them was counting on them.

They did it for each other.

From those first training sessions, to their first win, to finals football, to earning their place on Grand Final day — this team just kept believing.

And when their moment arrived, they took it.

But this premiership belongs to every single player who pulled on the jersey this year. Every player who trained, sacrificed, played through injury, supported a teammate and helped take this team from an idea at the beginning of the year to premiership winners at the end of it.

To Sharon and the entire coaching and support staff who believed in what this team could become and gave so much to get them here — what an incredible achievement.

They didn’t inherit a successful team.
They built one.

GRAND FINAL DAY — LET’S DO THIS!

Tomorrow morning, we’re calling on the entire Comets family to get around our girls as they prepare to take their place in the Grand Final!

📍 9:00am — Home Ground Sheds
Join us for bacon and egg rolls and help build the excitement ahead of the game.

🚶 10:15am — Walk to C.ex Coffs International Stadium
We’ll walk over together as one club alongside the team.

🏉 Approximately 11:45am — Kick-off
We want our supporters packing the southern end of the grandstand. Wear your red and gold, bring your voices and let the girls know the entire club is behind them!

After the game, we’ll head to the Hoey Moey for post-game drinks and presentations before finally returning to our home ground.

Let’s make tomorrow a day our girls will never forget!

FROM THE GROUND UP — NOW THEY’RE GRAND FINAL BOUND!

The journey began in October last year with little more than an idea, a commitment to rebuild and a group of women willing to believe in what could be achieved.

Many had never played together before. Some had never played rugby league at all.

They built this team from the ground up.

Along the way, they faced adversity before they could even take the field. But they stood up for one another, backed themselves and refused to listen to the doubt or negativity around them.

Most importantly, they knew they had an entire club standing behind them.

Now, in their inaugural season, our Coffs Harbour Comets Women’s Tackle team has earned its place in the 2026 Group 2 Grand Final, where they will face the Nambucca Roosters on Sunday.

Whatever happens from here, what this group has already achieved is incredibly special—but their story isn’t finished yet.

The celebrations begin this Thursday night, with a BBQ and the team’s Grand Final jersey presentation following training. We invite our Comets family to come along, support the girls and share this special moment with them.

We’re also calling on all of Coffs Harbour to get behind our girls.

Businesses, homes and cars—let’s turn the city red and gold and show this team exactly what they mean to Coffs Harbour as they proudly take their place on Grand Final day.

They believed in each other. Their club believed in them.

Now it’s time for Coffs Harbour to stand behind them.
