It’s never too late to try something new 🙂

At 41, Geena Davis picked up a bow and arrow for the first time, and started practicing archery. By 43, she was competing for a chance to represent Team USA at the 2000 Olympics.

Yes, *that* Geena Davis. The actor from "A League of Their Own" and "Thelma & Louise." In just two years, she made it all the way to the U.S. Olympic archery trials, finishing 24th out of 300 women vying for a spot.

Ultimately, getting a place on the Olympic team didn’t pan out, but going from complete beginner to one of the country’s top competitors in two years? An impressive feat! It’s never too late to try something brand new.

Christmas is fast approaching, now is the time to book a work Xmas party with a difference. This is an activity that everyone can be involved with. This years Indoor Nationals features a rag tag group of gentlemen at Sherwood Archery.
🎯Juniors Nathaniel and Xavier lead the way with compound bows
🎯Jackson and Seton are the form archers in Open Men’s , with Seton on the NSW state compound team and celebrates a birthday tomorrow.
🎯 Nick is very handy with his Barebow recurve and Ryan is celebrating his 1st anniversary of competition and a wedding anniversary as well.
🎯Rowan also entered in Open men’s compound will be making the most of his Darton Tritech 35.
🎯Phil will be enjoying his Barebow recurve after stepping back from judging duties.
🎯Lewis will do double duty this weekend with VI 1 and VI 2/3 in the vision impaired division 120 arrows a day is a big task.
🎯Brendan is another Para archer entering his first National event.
🎯Andrew will be enjoying his last year in 50+ before joining Troy in 60+ next year. There seems to be some adding up issues with ages, both looking much younger.
🎯Gary rounds out our entries competing with his compound in the gentlemen’s division.

It’s business as usual tomorrow. Range and Pro shop are open until 12. Drop in, you might even see some of the stars getting a little last minute practice in.

Target wall all rebuilt. No more soft spots from the compound vandals shooting 27s in the same hole. The price of having 300 shooters in the range. Indoor Nationals from 12 noon tomorrow. .

This weekends Indoor Nationals features almost 50% of the competitors being ladies.

🎯Penny O’Doherty is shoot Ladies Longbow and Masters Ladies Longbow.Defending wins in last years event.
🎯Kat is a serious contender for Ladies Barebow and representing NSW on the Barebow team.
🎯Biega is settling in nicely with her new Mathews bow.
🎯Lisa is very comfortable with her PSE.
🎯Jodi is also shooting a Barebow recurve, along with Gaynor.
🎯Merrilyn is making great use of her new Darton Tritech 33.
🎯Rosie is one of very few W1 Para archers in the country and this will her first Indoor Nationals.
🎯Olivia of course will be enjoying her new Darton Exodus Pro also on the SQAS state team.
