What an amazing show of support for the Fight MND cause today from our U13 Division 2 boys as they took on Byron Magpies in Byron.

Players, coaches, and officials proudly donned their Big Freeze beanies to help raise awareness and support this fantastic cause.

A special thank you to Carl Simmonds, who generously provided the beanies and continues to go above and beyond in supporting others and worthwhile community causes. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

To make the day even sweeter, the boys put in a tremendous team performance and came away with a well-deserved 41–18 victory.

Our club would like to congratulate Oberoi Acharya on his selection to represent CIS at the NSW All Schools U14 AFL Championships in Albury.

Competing in extremely challenging conditions, with freezing temperatures and persistent rain throughout the carnival, Obi showcased his talent, determination and versatility over two outstanding days of football.

On the opening day, Obi played across the half-back flank, where he provided plenty of run and carry, defended strongly, and consistently challenged the opposition forwards. On day two, he shifted to the wing, holding the corridor well and providing his teammates with valuable options to switch play and maintain ball movement.

After two impressive performances, Obi narrowly missed selection in the NSW team, but his efforts throughout the carnival were a credit to himself, his family, and our club.

We are incredibly proud of Obi’s achievement in representing both CIS and our club at such a high level and look forward to watching his football journey continue.

Congratulations, Obi – a fantastic achievement! 👏🏉

🏉 Cooly U8 Navy vs Broadbeach Cats U8 Leopards

Our Cooly boys fielded a full team under the lights at Broadbeach (after a longer than usual journey on Friday). The Navy boys were very strong against the Broadbeach Leopards, with our strong pressure and defence. Cooly demonstrated excellent team work, so that all players had an opportunity to kick for a goal. Well done to our Cooly boys who continue to grow as a team and impress us with their marking and goal kicking skills!

Cooper: an awesome team player, finding the space in the forward zone for the team to work together and kick goals

Arlo: continued improvement in each game, impressing us with his efforts to mark and put pressure on the other team

Cooly vs. Palm Beach Purple (Saturday, 30/05/2026)

Our Cooly boys took on another tough Palmy side today! It was an absolute cracker of a game by both teams, and the footy gods finally blessed us with some beautiful weather to match the occasion.

Palmy started strong, but our lads quickly regained their composure this time and took control of the game. From there, it was a gripping, back-and-forth battle right until the final siren.
Every Quarter the lads showed great skills with defensive pressure and clearing kicks, ability to find team-mates under pressure with clean handballs and their attack on the football, making a contest under pressure has improved.

A massive shoutout to Paddy for helping us out again this weekend—great game, buddy! All the boys put in a massive effort. Well done, team!

Fresh off a two-week holiday, Kayden came out with a point to prove! He racked up clean disposals and tried to get into every single contest. The team was excited to have him back.

🥈Second Best on Ground: Fletcher
Fletch is getting better week by week and is a real character among his teammates. His attack on the football and awesome clearing kicks were major highlights of the match!

🥉Most Improved: Zephyr
Another player showing us his potential every single week. Zephyr made a huge effort to lock down his opponents while still creating space in the forward line, bagging himself multiple goals!

🏉 Round 5 Match Report – Under 8s Blue Team

The Under 8s Blue Team faced Palm Beach Currumbin Maroon in Round 5 and put in another fantastic team performance.💪

The players showed great teamwork throughout the game, supporting each other, sharing the ball and working hard from start to finish.😊 It was fantastic to see not only the improvements the team has been making each week, but also the growing confidence across the group. Every player contributed, displayed excellent sportsmanship and gave their best effort throughout the match.

🏅 Henry had an excellent game, demonstrating great effort, teamwork and determination throughout the match. His strong performance and positive attitude made him a well-deserved Player of the Match.

Cooly Navy vs Burleigh White (Saturday 23/05/2026)
We were thankful for dry and windy conditions at the home ground in Banora this week.

🔥 The Cooly boys really stepped up their defence and teamwork against the Bombers. There was some great marking by the midfielders in the 1st quarter where the ball was moved through to our forwards, with all forwards kicking a goal. The Bombers came back in the second quarter, using the wind to their advantage with their kicking. Cooly turned it around in the second half, strong in defence, chasing down the ball and pushing the ball into the forwards. The boys demonstrated increased goal kicking accuracy in the 3rd and 4th quarter despite the wind. The team really stepped it up this week with their defence, marking and team work!

Spencer for excellent defence and marking.
Kruz the player of the week, the speed machine who chased the footy down and disposed of it to his teammates numerous times!

Tweed Cooly Blues U8 Boys White – Round 4 Wrap-Up!
Cooly vs Palm Beach Maroons (Saturday, 23/05/2026)

Today our lads faced a tough challenge against a strong Palmy side. The opposition started fast, catching us off guard with consecutive early goals which allowed them to control the first half.

After a monumental (lol) half-time rev-up, we got back into the game and everyone played like we know they can. The boys contested the ball, manned up on their players, and put some goals on the board. Their last quarter was their best; we outplayed Palmy and won the quarter! It’s a bu**er that we couldn’t have played that way all game, but it was a very good lesson for the team.

🙏A big thank you to Paddy for playing with us this Saturday to make up our numbers. He played with us last year and it was great to see him out there again! Paddy had a great game—he was hard at the ball and delivered great disposals.

Weekly Award Winners

🏅· Best on Ground: Sebastian. After missing last week's game, Seb really put the effort in today. Although he is new to the game, he is picking it up quickly! He pushes himself to improve his skills and always contests the ball.

🏅 Second Best on Ground: Louis. Louis is new to footy but has played well every game, and today he stepped it up right when we needed it! He gets to every contest and put great defensive pressure on his opponents. It is great having a lefty on the team too!

🏅Most Improved: Jack. Jack has been around the team last year, helping but he is really coming into his own this year. His confidence is growing as well as his skills. Some top-notch marks and good attack on the football.

Well done, boys! A great job from all of you!
