Round 9 sees our women's teams have the bye, who deserve a well earned break for their efforts so far this season.

Our VL & VLR men take on Old Xavs in what is always a competitive fixture. While our Pennant team take on Brunswick in a 2nd v 3rd thriller on the road.

Olivia Jenkins is one of our most talented players and she is heading to Doncaster, England to play there from August this year. An exciting forward she has already met her coach and he is thrilled to add her to the side.

Olivia will have plenty of time to travel while there and aims to visit family in Newcastle as well as see other countries.

Hockey Geelong has a strong relationship with Doncaster Hockey Club having sent Gus and Liam there the year before last. They had a marvelous time and Olivia is so excited with this opportunity. We currently have George Henshaw from Doncaster playing with us and he is having a great experience.

We wish Olivia all the best for her time away and welcome anyone interested in such an opportunity. Generally accommodation is provided as well as employment.

Congratulations to James Thomson who plays his 50th game for HG Sharks tonight 🔥

JT is a player who has had a monumental impact on the club since his arrival, notable accolades include a premiership captain and Men's 1st team B&F. Jimmy brings a level of effort and professionalism that everyone in the Sharks community should aspire to. JT helps the club out immensely off the field too, coaching our U16 boys team, as well as organising video recording for our matches.

A player deserving of the highest tier of praise and recognition, congratulations to the Fuzzband, James Thomson!
