Hockey Geelong Sharks

HG Sharks would like to proudly recognise Pete Taylor who played his 75th game for the club last week in Pennant C against Greensborough. Pete has been heavily involved with the sharks for a number of years, holding multiple roles within the club. He has also fulfilled multiple roles on the field, across multiple teams during his playing career. Such is his stature within the Geelong Hockey community he has his own fan club with 40+ members. Congrats to Pete on the 75 game milestone!

Please note a venue change for Pennant C men, who will play at Werribee instead of Stead Park (HV didn't want a 22 vs 22 fixture 😔)

Round 9 results 🔥

Round 9 saw our VL1 & Pen C men's teams playing in top 4 clashes, with close results across the board.

Our women's sides enjoyed a bye, which was a well earned break for their efforts so far this season.

Our junior teams enjoyed 4/5 wins, we share admiration for our U12s mixed team, a new team for the club this year, who have been promoted to shield following their strong performances in their opening games.

Olivia Jenkins is one of our most talented players and she is heading to Doncaster, England to play there from August this year. An exciting forward she has already met her coach and he is thrilled to add her to the side.

Olivia will have plenty of time to travel while there and aims to visit family in Newcastle as well as see other countries.

Hockey Geelong has a strong relationship with Doncaster Hockey Club having sent Gus and Liam there the year before last. They had a marvelous time and Olivia is so excited with this opportunity. We currently have George Henshaw from Doncaster playing with us and he is having a great experience.

We wish Olivia all the best for her time away and welcome anyone interested in such an opportunity. Generally accommodation is provided as well as employment.
