Hockey Geelong

Hockey Geelong will be exiting from our Stead Park pavilion slightly earlier than anticipated and will now be vacating by Wednesday 13 August.

As a result Stead Park will be operating using temporary facilities from the 14 August through to the project completion date of 30 September. These temporary facilities will include toilets and first-aid but not changing rooms.

The early vacate date will enable smooth delivery of the project, best outcomes for the new precinct and ensure the completion date of 30 September is achieved.

While this will impact the end of our season I am sure you are seeing an amazing facility evolving before your eyes. Please contact the Secretary or your club if you have any questions.

The new facility at Stead Park and the new commercial kitchen will allow us to use the social space for meals and events.

We are seeking expressions of interest from those who have their RSA and Safe Food Handling Licence. If you do not currently have these, you may obtain them online from a reputable provider. Please be careful who you choose as there are scams out there. A TAFE course or one that you know will deliver what you pay for is recommended.

Send your name and contact details, including your current qualifications, to Nette Williams. Payment will be based on an employee relationship and will be at award rates.

There is no commitment on your part at this point but if needed, we will offer you the opportunity.

We are keen to reduce the number of disposable coffee cups we use in the new pavilion to reduce our envirnomental impact.

We are keen to have a large number of coffee cups that people may choose from and have the coffee or tea in it, returning the cup after use.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OLD COFFEE CUPS IN THE BACK OF THE CUPBOARD?

We would love them so if you have some you would like to donate, please drop them off at Stead Park.

Olivia Jenkins is one of our most talented players and she is heading to Doncaster, England to play there from August this year. An exciting forward she has already met her coach and he is thrilled to add her to the side.

Olivia will have plenty of time to travel while there and aims to visit family in Newcastle as well as see other countries.

Hockey Geelong has a strong relationship with Doncaster Hockey Club having sent Gus and Liam there the year before last. They had a marvelous time and Olivia is so excited with this opportunity. We currently have George Henshaw from Doncaster playing with us and he is having a great experience.

We wish Olivia all the best for her time away and welcome anyone interested in such an opportunity. Generally accommodation is provided as well as employment.
