Softball Season is still going for the Geelong Cougars Saturday Men's team as they head into the Werribee A Grade Grand Final.

Playing against Melbourne Giants at 6:30pm, you can watch them in person at President's Park in Werribee, or follow the Hawks Fastpitch FB for the live stream 🎥

Grand Final SUPER SATURDAY is here! 🏆

This Saturday, March 28, head down to Werribee Softball Association and catch all the action as our teams battle it out for the premiership.

B Women – 12:00pm
A Women – 2:00pm
B Men – 4:30pm
A Men – 6:30pm

There’ll be live commentary, music, and a great atmosphere all day.

Good effort to the Geelong Cougars State League Men in their Grand Final last week 🥈🥎

Our State League Men went to Knox to take on Eastern Bucks in the SV Men's Fastpitch Grand Final last Thursday, 19.03.26 🥎

Eastern Bucks went into the grand final after another strong season, where they ended up on top of the ladder and earned the home ground status.

We were meant to play the Grindstone Mets the week before at Geelong, but were given a forfeit due to members attending a NZ comp.

We were hopeful for a Grand Final win after beating Bucks in a tight game at Geelong late in the season, but Bucks were too strong for us on the night, coming away with the win. They scored big in the 2nd and 6th innings to win the game 11 runs to 5.

Home runs on the night for us were scored by Jye Dennis and Joel Hughes 💥

Thanks to George Psimaris and Patrick Brackley for looking after the side all year. Also thanks to all the players that played during our season 👏

Thank you to the SV Men's Fastpitch scorers and umpires who make the games go on and lastly, thanks to the ladies Deb and Caz who looked after the canteen at Geelong Softball Association on our home games 💐

Our Women's Grand Final was held on 18.03.26 between Corio 🐯 and All Stars 🌟

Corio had come into the grand final at the end of a strong season and a big win over Birralee Gold in the semi-final. All Stars had advanced to the grand final after some strong batting in tight wins against Birralee White and Birralee Gold.

In the Grand Final, Corio took a big lead in the first innings and from there they were never headed. Final score was 11-0, in 3 & a half innings.

Congratulations to Corio on their win, becoming our 2025-2026 Premiers 🥇🏆

And well done to All Stars for making the grand final for the first time in a number of years 🥈✌️

Overall it was a good season with quite a number of new players in a lot of sides across the competition. Hopefully we see a return of those players and more next season 🤞

There is rumour that another side may enter the competition next year so we will have to wait and see what happens there 🤐😉

On the 21st & 22nd of February, our combined Geelong/Northern District Open Men's team came away as the Winners at the 2025-2026 Softball Victoria Open State Championships in Albury 🥇🏆

It was a tough weekend with 38-degree weather on Saturday then Sunday had some extreme rain, washing it out at the end of the last round.

The men won 5 of their 6 games for the weekend, ending up on the top of the ladder to go into the grand final but due to the extreme weather washing it out, they came away with the victory due to their results in the prior rounds.

There were 3 sides on the same points and 2 the same on "runs against but our team had more "runs for" so they were deemed the winners.

Congratulations, what a great weekend for you all 👏🏆
