đź’„ LIPTEMBER | 10 YEARS OF SUPPORTING THIS CAUSE đź’„
Today marks the beginning of LIPTEMBER.
And this year feels different.
I’ve supported LIPTEMBER for 10 years.
Ten years ago, I put on the lipstick, raised money and supported women’s mental health because I believed it was important.
But here’s the part that’s hard to say…
10 years ago, I didn’t have mental health.
I mean, I didn’t understand mental health the way I do now.
I didn’t understand what it felt like to struggle inside your own head.
I didn’t understand how someone could look completely fine on the outside while fighting battles nobody else could see.
I didn’t understand how quickly life can become overwhelming.
Now I do.
And that makes supporting LIPTEMBER feel very different.
This year, I won’t necessarily be raising money.
For me, it’s about something just as important by creating awareness and starting conversations.
Because mental health isn’t something that happens to other people.
It’s not weakness.
It’s not always visible.
And it’s not something we should feel ashamed to talk about.
Sometimes simply asking someone “Are you okay?” can be the beginning of a really important conversation.
So for my 10th year supporting LIPTEMBER, I’ll be wearing the lipstick again. 💋
But this time, I’m wearing it with a much deeper understanding of why this matters.
I want to talk about it.
I want others to feel comfortable talking about it.
And if this post makes even one person stop, check in on someone they love, or realise they’re not alone…
then it’s worth it. ❤️
Let’s start the conversation.
