Jannette’s farewell to the Cranbourne Kings

WOW … what a year this has been ….

Dec 2021 Jannette formed a committee to support the centre through 2022
Dec 17 2021 Committee gathered where Jannette announced she needed to sell due to the irreversible effects of COVID
Jan 29 2022 Jannette posted this on Facebook (no response re future from King members)

Ensuring the Kings survived, Jannette developed a 2-year plan
2-year sponsorship deals = 4 sponsors (herself being one)
Junior program to bring our Juniors into the club ($10 game fee)
Free training sessions for junior clubs to gain interest in indoor cricket and register with the Kings (thanks to our coaches)
Complimentary shirts (uniforms)
Drink Cards on Home Games
Prime time court hire for training (unutilised)
Registration of domestic players when needed
Attempted weekly captain meetings via Zoom
Regular recognition of our Sponsors within the Kings page
Request to new leasee to extend the closure until end of Season (new lease started 1st July) – giving Kings 8 months to find a new home
Discussions with ISV re future

“I ensured I gave all my friends and family notification first by posting only within my Facebook group out of respect that this would be an emotional time for many - including myself, as I knew during this transition, I would also need my community more than ever - so you could imagine my disappointment when at 5.30am my post was hijacked by a life member resulting in not even a supportive word, and soon after being deleted from the Cranbourne Kings Facebook Group with my Son (and player) Robert … then a request to come and take everything Club related away from the centre immediately.

After a couple of attempts to explain this to the Kings Representative – Silence

My apologies for not being at the centre for the final 2 home games (if they are played here), but I genuinely have no strength left to face anyone – but thank you to those who publicly and silently shared your feelings.”
