⚾️ ROUND 1 RESULTS ⚾️

What a fantastic way to kick off the 2026/27 season!

Across the club we saw some hard-fought victories, incredibly competitive close losses, and several standout performances that have set the tone for what promises to be an exciting season ahead. The effort, sportsmanship, determination and team spirit shown by our Panthers from Tee Ball through to Seniors was outstanding.

Every team should be proud of the way they represented Penrith Baseball Club in Round 1. While the results may not have all gone our way, there were plenty of positives to take away and build upon as the season progresses.

🌟 GAME OF THE WEEK 🌟

Congratulations to Coach Shaun and the mighty LL Majors Jaguars!

With the new season upon us, the Jaguars have faced plenty of challenges. Struggling for player numbers, welcoming several new players, having athletes play in new positions, and only recently commencing team training, the Jaguars travelled to Chapman Gardens to take on MacKillop Gold.

Just three days before game day, the Jaguars only had seven registered players available. Thanks to Emily and Connor from Holroyd Giants, who stepped in during their bye week, the Jaguars were able to field a side and battle their way to a thrilling 12-9 victory.

A special mention goes to Ethan, who was outstanding behind the plate despite coming from a softball background. With no experienced pitchers available, Sebastian, Lane and Joseph all stepped up to take the mound and did a tremendous job for the team.

Strong baserunning, great teamwork and some crucial defensive plays in the final innings helped secure the win.

Coach Shaun reflected on the performance:

“I was proud of the way the team carried themselves today. A lot went against them in the lead-up to the game, but they never gave up. It’s a great foundation for the team to continue building their skills and experience throughout the season.”

The Jaguars now enjoy a bye in Round 2 before taking on their friends from Holroyd at Foray Street in Round 3.

Congratulations to all our teams on a great start to the season. We can’t wait to see what Round 2 brings!

Today we celebrate and thank all the fathers, grandfathers, stepdads, father figures and mentors who make our club such a special place.

Whether you’re coaching from the dugout, helping on the field, scoring games, volunteering behind the scenes, running the BBQ, maintaining the grounds, managing teams, or simply cheering from the sidelines, your dedication, support and commitment help make Penrith Baseball Club stronger every day.

Baseball is more than just a game — it’s about family, community and creating lifelong memories. Thank you for the countless hours you give, the lessons you teach, and the encouragement you provide to our players both on and off the diamond.

We are grateful for everything you do and proud to have you as part of the Panthers family.

⚾️ THROWBACK THURSDAYS ⚾️

As part of our vision for the future, the Penrith Baseball Club Committee and Executive are committed to continuing to grow our club, increase participation in the sport we all love, and foster a strong culture built on collaboration, camaraderie, competition, and fair play.

While we’re focused on the future, we also believe it’s important to honour the past, engage the present, and inspire the next generation of Panthers.

To help celebrate our rich history, we’ll be introducing Throwback Thursdays – a monthly feature highlighting the people, teams, and moments that helped shape Penrith Baseball Club into what it is today. Through old photographs, stories, and memories, we’ll take a trip down memory lane and celebrate those who came before us.

Our first Throwback Thursday features photos from our very first Life Member, John Dewbery. John’s family kindly forwarded these images to the club to share with our community. These photos may well be the earliest images we have of Penrith Baseball Club in action, capturing a game played back in 1968 – the very year our club was founded. John Dewberry – Recognised as a founding member. The club credits him with playing an integral role in establishing the club in 1968 and helping transition it from a school-based organisation into an independent club.

A huge thank you to the Dewbery family for helping preserve and share this important piece of our history.

⚾️ ROUND 1 – THE EVE OF THE SEASON IS HERE! ⚾️

After months of planning, training and anticipation, the 2026/27 GWBA Junior Competition officially gets underway tomorrow!

Leading the charge for Penrith Baseball Club will be our Senior League team, the Penrith Blackcats, who will be first to take the field in our season opener tomorrow night at 7:00pm at Andrews Road. The team is ready, the preparations are complete, and we can’t wait to see them kick off another exciting season of baseball. Good luck, Blackcats! 🐾⚾

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to all visiting teams, players, coaches, officials and families who will be joining us throughout the weekend. We hope everyone enjoys a fantastic start to the season and has a great experience at Penrith Baseball Club.

🏟️ The Panther’s Den (Canteen) will be fully stocked and ready to go on Saturday with breakfast, lunch and plenty of snacks and drinks available throughout the day. Be sure to stop by and say hello to Lesley and our amazing team of volunteers, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everyone fed and fuelled.

What makes this announcement even more special is that it reflects the incredible growth our club has experienced over the past few years. More families than ever are choosing baseball, more kids are getting active, and more young athletes are proudly pulling on the Penrith colours.

This growth isn’t just about numbers. It’s about creating opportunities for young people in our community. It’s about providing a safe, inclusive environment where kids can learn new skills, build confidence, make lifelong friendships, and develop a love for sport.

To every player joining us this season – welcome. You are now part of something special. We look forward to watching you compete, grow, and represent Penrith with pride both on and off the field.

None of this happens by accident. Behind every team is a dedicated group of volunteers, coaches, managers, committee members, and families who work tirelessly to make our club successful. On top of this we also appreciate the support and collaboration from our association Greater Western Baseball Association and other clubs around us, we are excited to see everyone’s growth and start the new season with a bang!
