A few words from Andrew Simmonds, our new Club Treasurer!

I play with the Nomads (Fourth Grade), and my son George is in the Under 8's. Taking on the Treasurer role is a chance to give something back off the field as well, where, if we’re being fair, I may have a little more to offer.

Away from rugby, I’m a software engineer and have spent nearly three years as treasurer of my kids’ school P&C. I’m looking forward to putting that experience to work with a focus on a sound budget, clear reporting and using technology to simplify the admin and make life easier for our volunteers.

I’m also proud of my family’s long connection to Neddies. My grandfather, George 'Laurie' Simmonds, was a founding member in 1934. My dad Ian and Uncle Ken both played here, with Ken part of the 1970 premiership-winning side. With George now playing, that makes four generations of Simmonds at the club!

For the season ahead, I’m looking forward to another run with the Nomads, watching our juniors grow and getting to know more of the Neddies community. The club has given our family a lot, and I’m glad to give something back.

Got a fundraising idea, a question or just fancy a chat? Come and say hello!

💙💛 Neddies Family - Big News! A message from our new Club President Christine Lawrence 💛💙

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve stepped into the role of President of Nedlands Rugby Club and I’m proud to be the first female President in our club’s history.

As a mum of two, with my son in the Under 18s, I’ve spent more than 10 years volunteering across Neddies: Club Manager, Neddies North Rep, Junior Registrar, Junior President, and JRAC representative with Rugby WA. This club has been my community, my passion, and my second home.

I’m fired up about strengthening our junior and Colts pathways, championing women’s and girls’ rugby, and building a club environment where every player feels supported, challenged, and proud to wear blue and gold.

2027 is going to be huge. I can’t wait to connect with our members, see our families at training, and kick off a season full of energy, growth, and Neddies spirit.

Let’s make 2027 unforgettable. Go Neddies! 💙💛
