Mandy Probyn - Equine Connection

Mandy Probyn - Equine Connection Horsemanship Programmes helping owners connect with and train their own horses. Horses have been an enormous part of Mandy's life, with 40 years of experience.

Her hobby has become a full-time passion for the horse and sharing her knowledge with other horse owners. Mandy completed her Equine Coaching Certificate to conduct private lessons, which expanded to teaching Horsemanship Clinics. She firmly believes that "if you own a horse, you are a trainer" we owe it to our horses to be good leaders and teach them how to interact with their human partners. Believing it is not how tall or strong you are but how you work with these majestic animals. Mandy is only 4'11" tall; however, she is a giant compassionate leader moving their feet easily. Mandy is extremely passionate about helping women regain confidence lost due to aging or a negative experience. Through her Foundation Horsemanship Clinics, she teaches, or as she says, gives horse owners the tools to train their own horses. It was once said, "Frustration begins where Knowledge Ceases"… Mandy has found people become frustrated when their communication with their horse breaks down. Mandy empowers horse owners to feel more confident interacting with their horses, by providing the tools and knowledge to enable them to work with their horses, i.e. in the form of ground control and ridden exercises. Mandy also has a keen interest in Cowboy Dressage, endeavouring to spread the word about this fast-growing horse sport. Mandy loves the discipline and training behind the dressage but is a true Cowgirl enjoying her western saddle and fully embraces the' Cowgirl Way of Life." Mandy also has a passion for Community and Youth work so in 2023 will see her present Sue Spence Communications Horses Helping Humans programme. Mandy enjoys talking to other horse owners and helping where she can so please contact her if you have a question or enquiry into holding a clinic in your local area. Qualifications:

🌾 A LITTLE HAY REMINDER 🌾

Just a reminder about the importance of making sure your horse has plenty of roughage when you leave them for the night. 🐴💚

As a guide, horses need a minimum of around 1.5% of their body weight in forage/roughage per day. For an average 500kg horse, that's at least 7.5kg of forage over 24 hours.

Please make sure your horse is left with at least 4 good biscuits of roughage hay in a slow feeder hay net for overnight, and more where needed depending on the horse, the size and weight of the biscuits, and what other forage they have access to.

A slow feeder helps make that hay last longer, encourages more natural trickle feeding and reduces those long periods standing around with an empty belly.

We know how easy it is after a big day to feed up, rug up and head off, but before you leave, have one last look at that hay net and ask yourself… “Is there enough here to keep my horse happily munching?” 🌾🐴

Happy horses need happy tummies. 💚

Day 3 and we’re hitting the NEW Remuda Trail Classes! 🐴🌾

Group 1 are out learning the new manoeuvres, figuring out the patterns and giving everything a go.

Nothing like a bit of Cowboy Dressage with a side of wild weather! 🤠🐎

Learning and Riding. That’s what Bootcamp is all about. ❤️
