πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Tuesday Trainer Tip with Hayley

Do you have a pre-run mobility and activation routine?

Spending just 5–10 minutes preparing your body before a training run can make a big difference. A good pre-run routine can help to:

βœ… Increase blood flow and body temperature
βœ… Activate key muscles needed for running
βœ… Improve joint mobility and movement quality
βœ… Prepare your body for the demands of running
βœ… Help you feel more mobile, coordinated and ready to run

While there are an infinite number of activation and mobility exercises you can use before a run, your routine should ultimately be individualised to your needs, your body and your running goals.

Today, we’re sharing some common drills that can be incorporated into a pre-run routine.

Scroll through the videos to check out:

πŸ”Ή Banded crab walks & monster walks
πŸ”Ή Calf pumps
πŸ”Ή Lunge & twist
πŸ”Ή Hip circles
πŸ”Ή Dynamic adductor stretches
πŸ”Ή Hip swings
πŸ”Ή Open books

Try incorporating a few of these into your next 5–10 minute pre-run routine and see how you feel! πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Banded Crab Walks & Monster Walks

Why use them?
πŸ”Ή Activate the glutes and hip stabilisers
πŸ”Ή Prepare the hips and legs for the demands of running
πŸ”Ή Improve lateral hip strength and control

Technique Tips:
βœ… Keep constant tension on the band
βœ… Stay tall with a soft bend in the knees
βœ… Take controlled steps without letting the knees collapse inward
βœ… Keep your hips level and avoid excessive side-to-side movement

Think: Controlled movement + constant tension = better activation. πŸ’ͺπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Calf Pumps

Why use them?
πŸ”Ή Increase blood flow and warm up the calf muscles
πŸ”Ή Prepare the calves and Achilles for the repetitive demands of running
πŸ”Ή Improve ankle mobility and movement through the lower leg

Technique Tips:
βœ… Move smoothly through the full range of motion
βœ… Keep your weight controlled through the balls of your feet
βœ… Avoid bouncingβ€”use a steady, rhythmic movement
βœ… Keep your knees soft and maintain good

Client Success Post πŸ’ͺ

Join us in giving a big shout out to Kylie Moses for her outstanding body composition transformation, strength and fitness gains! πŸ‘

Over the past couple of months, Kylie has achieved some amazing results:

πŸ”₯ 4.8 kg in body fat mass lost
πŸ”₯ 20% reduction in body fat mass
πŸ”₯ 6 cm reduction in waist girth
πŸ”₯ 1.3 kg increase in skeletal muscle mass

Kylie has achieved these results through consistency, commitment and a well-rounded approach.

Her regular in-gym sessions with trainer Isaac have focused on building strength and muscle mass, supported by a carefully designed overall training plan. This has included Run Group once a week, plus a couple of additional group training sessions each week, including Circuit and/or Boot Camp.

Combined with her nutrition plan β€” which Kylie has adhered to around 90% of the time β€” this consistent approach has delivered fantastic body composition results, along with some obvious improvements in strength, fitness and overall performance.

πŸ‘ Well done, Kylie! Your consistency and commitment have really paid off, and we’re excited to see where you go from here!

Tuesday Trainer Tip with Hayley: The Smith Machine πŸ’ͺ

The Smith Machine is a versatile piece of equipment that can accommodate a huge range of exercises and suit all levels of gym experience β€” from beginners to experienced lifters.

βœ… Pros
β€’ Added stability β€” great for beginners and training close to failure.
β€’ Helps you focus on the target muscle without controlling the bar path.
β€’ Ideal for squats, lunges, presses, rows, RDLs, hip thrusts and more.
β€’ Makes heavier training more accessible without needing a spotter.
β€’ Great for building confidence and progressively increasing load.

⚠️ Cons
β€’ The fixed bar path may not suit everyone’s natural movement.
β€’ Less stabilisation required than with free weights.
β€’ The machine doesn’t replace good technique.
β€’ Some exercises may feel less natural depending on your body and the machine.

The Takeaway:
The Smith Machine isn’t better or worse than free weights β€” it’s simply another tool in your toolbox. Used correctly, it can be incredibly effective.

Scroll through the videos to see Hayley demonstrate:

1. Back Squat
2. Swiss Ball Chest Press
3. Romanian Deadlift
4. Bent-Over Row
5. Hip Thrust

Member Results Post β€” Mark Cardenzana πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

MARK CARDENZANA β€” 32KG DOWN!
πŸ“‰ 112kg β†’ 80kg
πŸ”₯ 74% reduction in body fat mass
πŸ“ 38cm off his abdomen measurement
❀️ Visceral fat reduced from 15 β†’ 3

Mark joined Elite PT two years ago and kicked off his incredible transformation by working with Adam during a six-week challenge.

But the challenge was just the beginning.

Mark took everything he learned from Adam and continued to put it into practice, consistently completing his resistance and cardio training week after week at Elite PT.

Fast forward two years and the results speak for themselves. 32kg of total body weight lost, a 74% reduction in body fat mass, and an incredible 38cm reduction in abdominal girth.

Even more importantly, Mark’s transformation has delivered life-changing improvements to both his physical and mental health, including a reduction in visceral fat from 15 down to just 3.

This is what happens when you consistently show up, put in the work and stick with it. πŸ‘Š

Well done, Mark! You should be immensely proud of what you’ve achieved. An incredible transformation and a testament to your consistency, commitment and determination.

πŸ‘πŸ”₯ 32kg down. Two years of hard work. One incredible result.
