Valentine Eleebana FC

Valentine Eleebana FC Valentine Eleebana FC, more commonly known as Valentine Phoenix, provides a career pathway for youth players and is home for an NPL team.

Since 1994, Valentine Eleebana FC and Belmont FC have worked closely together to provide a "pathway" for our Junior Players to the highest possible levels of local football. Our jointly owned senior club was Belmont Tingira Soccer Club which played in the 2nd Division from 1994. At the end of season 2005, Belmont FC relinquished their ownership of Belmont Tingira which continued in the NEWFM League as part of VEFC, playing under the name Valentine Belmont FC. VEFC merged with Phoenix Rangers Football Club from season 2008 taking on their State League Licence and changing our playing name to Valentine Phoenix. In 2014, Valentine were relegated to the NNSW NEWFM First Division. Phoenix in its differing names (Stewart and Lloyds, Tubemakers, Phoenix) were established in 1938 and apart from a hiatus of approx 5 years in the early 80's were a significant force in the local Football competition throughout this period. We would like to acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the players, supporters and dedicated committee people from Belmont Tingira Soccer Club, Phoenix Rangers Football Club, Belmont Football Club and Valentine Eleebana Football Club without who's dedicated service over the last 16 years, we would not have our current opportunity to provide a career pathway in Football for the youth of Eastern Lake Macquarie. For Season 2010, 2011 and 2012, more than 75% of our State League Players were local Valentine and Eastlakes juniors.

We finished up with a fabulous presentation night last night which was full of great speeches, funny interviews, lots of awards, the Pretty Amazing Jono and the announcement of our JDL Player of the Year: Daniel Redman 🌟

Congratulations to all our players and coaches on a great year. Looking forward to an even better 2027!

It’s time to celebrate an amazing 2026 season! 🟠🔵

Join us as we recognise all of our MiniRoos and Interzone players and celebrate the friendships, fun and fantastic football that made this season so special.

A big thank you to Lee Sterrey, who finishes up as our First Grade Head Coach following the 2026 season.

Lee joined Valentine FC for the 2026 season alongside Tony Majurovski, taking charge of First Grade while Tony took on the Reserve Grade Head Coach role and worked as First Grade Assistant Coach.

Lee brought more than 30 years of A-Licence coaching experience to Valentine, with an impressive football background including the Fijian National Team, Newcastle Breakers, Marconi, Sydney Olympic, Parramatta Eagles, Macarthur Rams and Mounties FC.

He also brought significant experience from his time as Technical Director at The King’s School, regularly taking teams to Europe to play against clubs including Real Madrid and Manchester City.

That experience, knowledge and network were a real asset to our senior program, and Lee made a significant contribution throughout the 2026 season.

On the park, he helped guide First Grade to an outright 7th-place finish, a significant improvement on the previous season and a result that exceeded many of the predictions made at the beginning of the year.

We sincerely thank Lee for his professionalism, commitment and the experience he brought to Valentine FC.

We wish Lee all the best for the next chapter.

It is with sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Margaret Jane Foreman.

Margaret and her late husband, David, were long standing members of Valentine FC and were part of the club for many years.

For those of us who grew up playing football in the local area, David’s unmistakable accent calling out, “Get out of the goal mouth!” is one of those memories that stays with you and, looking back, brings a smile.

Margaret was also a valued part of the club, including her involvement with the canteen. Their contribution to Valentine and the memories they helped create are remembered with great warmth.

Our thoughts are with the Foreman family and all those who knew and loved Margaret.

Margaret’s funeral service will be held at 12.30pm on Monday, 14 September 2026, at The Chapel, 444 Pacific Highway, Belmont. Parking is available via Henry Street.

Rest in peace, Margaret.

⚽️💙 FOOTBALL IS MORE THAN JUST A GAME 🧡

This R U OK? Day, we’re reminding our Valentine FC family that football is about so much more than what happens between the white lines.

It’s the mateship in the change rooms.
It’s the laughs at training.
It’s having someone beside you when things don’t go your way.
It’s the feeling of belonging to something bigger than yourself.

For many of our players, football provides a place to connect, get active, clear their head and simply be themselves. Sometimes, that one training session or game can be the best part of someone’s week. ❤️

But sometimes our teammates, friends or family members might be struggling, even when they seem okay.

So today, take a moment to ask the question.

🗣️ R U OK?

And if someone says they’re not okay, don’t feel like you need to have all the answers. Listen. Stay with them. Check in again. Let them know they’re not alone.

Because at Valentine FC, we look after our own. 🧡💙

Football brings us together.

Our 2026 AGM is on 7th October 2026 starting at 6pm sharp at Valentine Bowling Club.

Our club has had a fabulous year and we want to continue that momentum and build on that for next year.

We invite all members who are interested in growing and developing the club to come along

Maybe you want to nominate for a committee position or find out how you can contribute on a casual basis. We certainly welcome any help that is offered.
