Relive the action!

Last weekend, Norths hosted our home round of Masters League.

The best hoopers from across the 40+ and 50+ divisions battled it out against their rivals from metro associations.

This league represents a great initiative that brings together the North’s community, spanning across past and present members.

Introducing U20s in 2027 🏀

From next season, Norths will field Men's and Women's teams in BNSW's Under 20 competition, the latest addition to the Waratah Senior League.

The jump from U18s to open-age basketball is a big one. U20s will help bridge that gap, giving our athletes more time to develop, more opportunities to keep playing beyond the junior ranks, and a stronger pathway from their first game in U12s through to Senior Programs and beyond.

Our 2027 Senior Programs:
Youth League Division 1 Men
Youth League Division 1 Women
🆕 Under 20 Men
🆕 Under 20 Women

U14 Boys made us proud 🐻

On behalf of Norths Basketball, congratulations to our Under 14 Boys for being such fantastic representatives of our association at Foot Locker Club Championships in Perth.

Whilst the results didn't go the way the team would've wanted, the boys competed against Australia's best each and every time they stepped out onto the court. They now come back to Sydney with valuable experience and fond memories as a group.

Basketball is changing from 1st October 2026

The 2026 FIBA rule changes include some significant updates to how the game will be played and officiated, including the Act of Shooting, Technical Fouls, the introduction of the Disruptive Foul, Flagrant Fouls, Game Disqualification and new referee signals.

We’ve broken down the key changes to make them easier to understand for our members, so everyone at Norths can continue to enjoy their basketball!

For the complete wording and application of each rule, refer to the official FIBA Basketball Rules.
