One of Grandmaster Gary Khor's most popular Qigong Set taught at Central Coast branch of the Australian Academy of Tai Chi in partnership with Living Chi Chinese Medicine Clinic.

The Lotus Qigong Set teaches you how to use the body to help prevent any injury to joints. Tai Chi Walking and the Lotus Qigong taught in the Academy focus on helping you feel the increase of blood circulation to the extremities and joints.

Learning to walk with precision and strengthen the muscles is the key to nurturing, nourishing and strengthening the muscles allowing the joints to absorb the pressure within Tai Chi.

The workshop helped people understand how to reduce joint pain through movements. Master Aaron Khor and Grandmaster explained the focus of activating muscles to support the body as opposed applying pressure in the wrong direction to the knee. At the same time, the posture is adjusted with balance. This brings in the weight bearing exercises to strengthen the bones in a high level of detail in the anatomical structures to understanding Chinese Medicine and Tai Chi.

At the Australian Academy of Tai Chi, workshops offer an immersive and deeply engaging learning environment. Instructors bridge the gap between ancient martial arts and modern science. Students do not just copy movements; they analyze the bio-mechanical breakdown and functional anatomy of the human body.

This approach helps participants understand the physical mechanics behind every posture. Diverse Perspectives and Practical Application The curriculum highlights the versatility of the art form by demonstrating multiple variations of individual movements.

Dynamic Training: Sessions balance theoretical knowledge with rigorous, hands-on physical practice. Interactive Collaboration: Partner and group exercises allow students to observe structural alignment in real time.

Peer Feedback: Watching others provides a clearer perspective on one's own bodily posture and movement efficiency.

Continuous Development: No two workshops are identical. Each session introduces a unique thematic focus designed to challenge existing habits. This progressive structure continuously refreshes the practitioner's understanding. It ensures that both beginners and advanced students gain fresh, actionable insights during every single event.

Can a martial art actually heal your joints?

If you are living with arthritis, have stiff pre-arthritic joints, or want to protect your body as you age, Tai Chi might just be the missing piece in your wellness routine.Unlike high-impact workouts that can leave you sore, Tai Chi uses slow, fluid movements to heal your body from the inside out.

Here is exactly how it protects and rejuvenates your joints: Reduces Stress & InflammationStress actually constricts blood flow to your joints and can trigger inflammatory auto-immune responses. Tai Chi activates your relaxation response, opening up circulation and calming your nervous system.

Lubricates the JointsThink of the slow, rotational movements as "oiling the hinges." This gentle motion promotes the flow of synovial fluid—the essential lubricant that keeps your joint linings healthy, supple, and pain-free without any risk of injury.

Boosts Nutrient DeliveryBy improving overall blood circulation, Tai Chi floods your joints with fresh oxygen and nutrients while actively flushing out metabolic waste and toxins that cause stiffness.

Builds a Natural Support SystemIt gently strengthens your connective tissues, ligaments, and muscle tone. This creates a strong, natural "brace" around your joints, protecting them from everyday strain.Movement is medicine, and it doesn’t have to hurt to work.
