👫 BRING A FRIEND DAY! This Saturday, our Teeball, Modball and Division 3 players are invited to bring a friend along to join in their morning games! Modball and Division 3 games won’t count towards competition points, so it’s the perfect opportunity to introduce friends to softball, let them experience what it’s like to be part of a team and show them why you love spending your Saturday mornings at MWSA!

DIAMOND UPDATES

The diamond allocations for Round 2 have been updated here:https://cdn.revolutionise.com.au/site/vpmugnlproec5bh7.pdf

Map of the diamonds: https://www.revolutionise.com.au/mwsa/game-day/diamond-map

Please can the Freddo Frogs and Sparrows pack away the temporary diamond “A” (between D5&6 this week)
at the end of the Teeball game.

Please can all teams check to see if they are the last team on their diamond for the day, and if so they need to pack up for the grounds crew to collect. The last teams on each diamond must return the shades to the Reub Hudson canteen area too.

The 8.45am umpiring clinic will be on Diamond 9. The 12pm umpiring clinic has been cancelled.

🤞No more rain!!!

At this stage MWSA diamonds 5-10 are playable for tomorrow (Round 2). Please keep an eye out for diamond changes and any further updates - we hope there is no more rain!

If anyone is available to assist move items from the top canteen to Reub Hudson tomorrow from 7.30am, we’d really appreciate the help. And back again end of the day. 🙏

MWSA is running two additional Introduction to Umpiring sessions to help players learn the basics and build confidence on the diamond.

These practical sessions are ideal if you:
• have never umpired before;
• have only umpired a few games;
• would like a refresher; or
• simply want to better understand the game from an umpire’s perspective.

We’ll cover the basic mechanics of umpiring, where to position yourself, signals and some of the common situations you’ll encounter in a game.

Come to either or both sessions. All welcome!
🥎 Saturday 17 October, 8.45 - 9.30am (base mechanics - NEW session)
🥎 Saturday 17 October, 12 - 12.45pm (plate mechanics) NB if you attended the umpiring clinics on either 10 or 12 October, you will have covered this material. You are of course welcome to re-attend!
