Good Afternoon Members,
Please see the statement from Football Queensland below.
Please note that this is just one piece of the puzzle.
As clubs, we have had our voices heard, and this is a step in the right direction. However, we are not stopping at fees alone.
There are still many unanswered questions that need to be addressed, and we will continue to push for answers, transparency, and what is best for our clubs and our football community.
We will keep you all updated as we work through the process and seek answers to the many outstanding questions.
Together, our voices are stronger. This is just the beginning.

What a season for our Metro 9 Men!

Metro 9 South Men – End of Year Review ⚽

A high-scoring season with a tight battle at the top of Men’s Metro 9 South.

Creek Tigers claimed both the Premiership and the Grand Final. They finished level on points with Logan Lightning but held a superior goal difference after scoring 75 goals and conceding only 36. Big wins were a regular feature and they stayed in control when it mattered most.

Logan Lightning FC matched the premiers for wins and points. They scored freely (69 goals) and remained genuine title challengers throughout, falling just short on goal difference in the regular season.

Logan Village Falcons All Sports secured a solid third place. They scored 51 goals, mixed strong results with a useful number of draws, and stayed competitive against the top two across the full campaign.

Capalaba FC finished fourth. They were balanced at both ends, mixed wins with draws, and stayed in the mix for a top-three finish for large parts of the season.

Bethania Rams FC finished just behind them on the same points total. They scored heavily (50 goals) in a more open style and produced some strong individual performances, even if the defence was more vulnerable.

Mt Gravatt Hawks FC found the season tougher and finished in the lower half. They scored 42 goals but conceded heavily and dropped too many games to climb higher.

Clairvaux Football Club picked up a useful number of draws and stayed competitive in patches. Wins were harder to come by against the stronger sides and they spent most of the year in the bottom three.

Western Spirit Football Club finished at the foot of the table. They scored a respectable 44 goals but conceded heavily and regularly found themselves on the wrong end of scorelines.

416 goals, 15 red cards and 115 yellow cards made for an open and physical competition. 18 catch-up games also featured across the season. Slacks Creek’s double capped a strong year at the top. Well done to every player, coach and club involved.

Congratulations to our Metro 11 Men!

🎉Wow, what a Presentation Day! Great weather, awesome inflatables, fantastic food and drinks, and most importantly, our players and families. We hope you all enjoyed celebrating and wrapping up our 2026 season.

Events like Presentation Day don't just happen. There are countless hours of work behind the scenes to ensure everyone has a wonderful experience.

Our biggest acknowledgement, as always, goes to Mel and Marc Cameron, our President and Vice-President, for the countless hours they dedicate to planning, organising, setting up, packing down, and ensuring everything runs smoothly throughout the day. Your commitment to the club is truly appreciated.

A huge thank you also goes to Mick de Brenni, Fiona and the team for not only running the sausage sizzle but also generously supplying all the sausages, bread, onions and condiments. The incredible support Mick shows our club year after year is very much appreciated.

Thank you to Councillor Mindy Russell, one of Creek's biggest supporters, who never misses an opportunity to give back to our club and generously donated the soft drinks for our players.

We would also like to thank Stuart Whitaker, Scott Short, Joseph Kennedy, Carly Gonzalez, Charlize Cameron, Zahra Cameron, Zac and Bree, Jacinda Pitt and Mrs Pat Thompson for helping with setup, assisting with the sausage sizzle, and keeping everything running smoothly throughout the day and into the evening.

Most importantly, thank you to all of our players, families, coaches, managers, volunteers and supporters for being part of another fantastic season. ⚽🧡

Mick de Brenni Councillor Mindy Russell

Queensland football clubs are united.

Slacks Creek FC are one of more than 70 clubs that have come together with one clear message: major decisions affecting players, families, volunteers and community clubs must be transparent, properly explained and developed through genuine consultation.

Our clubs may represent different communities, regions and competitions, but we are united in asking Football Queensland to:
- Pause the proposed 2027 Competition Access Fee model
- Pause the current Affiliation Agreement process
- Provide full financial transparency
- Consult meaningfully with affected clubs
- Work with clubs toward a fair and sustainable way forward

This is not about resisting change. It is about ensuring that change is reasonable, properly planned and does not place unfair costs, risks or administrative burdens on families and volunteer-run clubs.

We remain committed to working constructively with Football Queensland for the benefit of everyone involved in our game.

Together, our clubs are stronger. Together, our voices must be heard.
