Day 3 at the World Taekwondo Hanmadang at Kukkiwon, South Korea… what an incredible experience!

After 41 years in Taekwondo, I’m finally competing at my first Hanmadang at Kukkiwon. It’s been fantastic catching up with old friends, making new ones, and sharing this journey with people from around the world who all share the same passion.

I missed out on a medal today, but this experience has reminded me that it’s not always about the result—it’s about the journey, the friendships, and being part of the amazing global Taekwondo family.

A huge thank you to Australian coach GM Ross Hartnett, teammates, supporters, and international friends who have made this experience so special.

Next up is Speed Breaking on Wednesday. Looking forward to the challenge—and having some fun!

Lyle has achieved outstanding success, representing our club at the 2026 Presidents Cup and the Australian Open, earning two bronze medals in Para Poomsae Taekwondo and advancing to compete in the Oceania Taekwondo Competition tomorrow.
