first comp done and a successful one at that!
Taking home a 2nd, 3rd and 4th in her bikini division at ICN state titles.

This one means a lot for Somer as we have had to overcome some health complications over the last 2 years and we have changed nutrition protocols to suit her condition which has worked out well for her.

Can’t wait to get the next build phase underway and come back better next time!

These 3️⃣ mistakes which I have done over the years and I see others do can really hinder your progress.

There is no such thing as perfection, focus on being as consistent as you can and do what you can with the time you have.

As the saying goes better is better, more is not better.

If you can’t recover you can’t train hard.

If you can’t improve with progressive overload every session, then you’re not improving. Take some time out, recover, come back stronger.

Stop fu***ng changing the exercises, stick to your program and make sure it has the basic movement patterns in there and just get fu***ng strong.

Go to the gym to STIMULATE not PUNISH bad habits

Saying NO can give you more time back to focus on you!

Cooking and setting out your meals in advance will keep you on track.

And stay clear of bu****it marketing buzz words like fat free and high protein snacks. They are garbage.

It’s a coaches job to just keep you accountable to guide you to keep making the right choices. ⁣

Change comes completely from you, no trainer or coach can set the desire in you to want it more than yourself. ⁣

Keep it simple, learn to say no more and focus on what you want you want, not what you don’t want.

2 x 7 week programs in for and progress is moving nicely. ⁣

Improvements happen when you execute the plan and be coachable.⁣

Above all being coachable is most important.⁣

There is no set formula to progress it’s totally dependent to the individual. When working with a coach the goals and outcomes need to be very clear from the start. ⁣

With open communication and a clear picture you can get where you want. Without open dialogue you get nowhere.⁣

The point I am making is, talk with your coach, they are not mind readers.⁣

Don’t just look at the cals and scale weight as your first point of call. ⁣

Look at the big picture and see what other areas you can improve first if you want to improve body composition. ⁣

Future IFBB Classic Physique athlete putting in the work week in week out to get in a great position to now start an off season. ⁣

Phase 1 was a focus to improve body composition and improve his ability to track and create some consistency with meal prep and nutritional quality.

With some great habits and ground work established, we can now slowly implement more cals systematically over time to lay down some tissue to his frame.

Starting with a lower body fat percentage is crucial to making better progress in the off season. ⁣

It also helps the athlete and coach to better understand when it’s time to prep, how their body responds in a dieting phase.⁣

Having tracked data will give us more insight to what works better for the individual. ⁣
