Not long now until Sydney Uni will take on Veszprém Handball Club at the IHF Club World Championships in Egypt. Time to start introducing our team!

Since arriving in Sydney from Brazil back in 2018, Icaro Gregorio has grown into one of the most recognisable faces in Aussie handball. He’s a 5x national champion, a national team regular, and a player whose passion is as big as his game.

These days, Icaro is based on the Sunshine Coast and involved in building the handball youth program there, as well as playing for Gold Coast Handball Club. For the handball world stage he’s suiting back up in blue and gold though, bringing his trademark speed, creativity, and relentless drive back to the club where it all started for him in Australia. Go Ica!

💙💛 Over the weekend Sydney Uni Academy and club members participated in the Junior Nationals Tournament, playing for NSW. The U21 men's and women's teams placed first, and the U18 men's and women's teams placed second.
U21 men and women won, and the U18 men and women placed second.

Congratulations to all the teams, and a huge thank you to all coaches, referees, volunteers, and officials who make these events possible!!! 📸 A huge shoutout to for her amazing sports photography, seen on the attached.

We are so proud of all our Lions who gave it their all on the court, representing NSW!!! This is an amazing experience that we are privileged to have access to in order to create the next generation of this sport.

💙💛 What a difference a year makes!!!

Last year, just 3 Sydney Uni Handball Club Juniors were selected for the NSW Junior Nationals. This year, we’re incredibly proud to have 11 players selected! We couldn’t be prouder of the growth, dedication, and love for handball shown by our juniors. Congratulations to all players on this incredible achievement... we can’t wait to see what’s next!

💙💛 MENS LEAGUE ROUND 7:

A special shoutout to Jayden Brandon, who made his senior debut after coming through our Youth Program, finishing the match with an impressive three goals! It's always a proud moment to see our junior players step up to the senior stage, and we couldn't be happier for Jayden.

Despite having a short bench, our team dug deep, adapted to new positions, and worked together right until the final whistle. A big thank you to UNSW Handball Club for a fantastic contest. They brought great intensity and made for an exciting game from start to finish.
